Discussion Does anyone remember the PostSecret app ?

I have only read the books and looked at various post cards on their website

(none of these are mine just some I found on the Internet to add to this post, there's so many good ones so I recommend browsing the site or reading the books !)

the app was in the iOS store in 2011 and was removed December 2011 because some abusive and indecent and concerning submissions

I have yet to hear or read about the other incidents for example a possible murder confession that was probably a hoax

(but I was definitely on Whisper when it was a normal app similar to PostSecret before it all went down hill and was full of escorts, strange people, and probably police)

It's one of my favourite book series and art projects of all time and I would even say that it kind of changed or affected my life in some way because I read the books secretly up until the age of maybe 13 or 14
(my parents found them or either picked them up from the library when I had them in hold and were appalled by some of the stuff they read so I never really got to read every book that was published)

I am glad it's still going today on their website and that people can still send post cards in

maybe one day I will get to send one or a lot of them or maybe I could even start my own variation where I just leave them hidden in random places for strangers to find

I didn't have the app, but I remember reading the original blog that was updated with new secrets every week. I read it weekly from 2005-2007ish. I read the books later too… such a cool project.

do you happen to remember the old website name?

really want to see any archives of it or how it used to look !

right now they only post secrets daily rather than weekly and you can't really look at them all at once or sort them by theme

and the forum is dead kind of I think

also have you heard of or browsed the similar site (not associated with PostSecret) but with voicemails ?

I have never heard of this one until now so at first I thought you might have been referring to the reddit named r/unsentletters I can't remember the exact name but I think that's it?

I can't wait to explore this site later and add it to the collection thank you for sharing it !

Yeah I've been looking at them today haha, lots of them were archived on the Wayback Machine. It was postsecret.blogspot.com

And no, I haven't heard of the voicemail project!

I've only Heard about tu secreto but is in spanish an a lot of pedos are there
