Venting Does anyone else hate New Year's?

It just seems pointless celebrating another year.
Another year I've spent alive wishing I was dead, wishing my attempts had worked.
This year I've tried killing myself 5 times.
It's all pointless and just reminds me of how I've wasted my life

I remember when holidays used to mean something. Now it just feels like an appointment on a calendar. You just have to do what you do every year, expecting something different to happen, expecting "a better year". But no, life won't change, even if you try, it won't get better.
Even if you don't celebrante, there's people around you who is unreasonably optimistic; people that don't get you and don't even bother, and that expect you to be happy.
Every year feels like another humilliating defeat. Fuck everything.

Yes I hate it. I've been hearing the fireworks go off and they depress me. It's the beginning of a new decade and a lot of people out there are happy except for me. That's how it feels.

I hate New Year's celebration. Everyone is happy. Without me. And people are forcing me to feel happy. But I can't feel it anymore. I can only think about ctb, and I don't want them to know.

With a passion. I was certain I'd be gone before the holidays, but my SN never arrived and I'm set on a peaceful method sadly. It was a strange feeling, the world celebrating at midnight while I cried because I'm still here. It was my last new years, and I'm glad I won't see 2021

thats my attitude towards new years. Worst holiday of the year, in fact probably the only holiday I dislike.

im lonely as hell, but even Valentine's Day doesn't brew the kind of pejorative feelings in me that New Years does.

I haven't been a fan of the closing of the year for a while now for many of the reasons already brought up here. This year's holidays have been especially strange in that it hasn't really « stood out » at all. That isn't to say that I didn't enjoy my time with family, I really did, but the holiday felt more hollow than usual. I'm sure that it is just me making it that way.

I hate the holidays in general. They are such a huge trigger to me... But this one is the biggest trigger by far, because I wanted to end my life before 2020. Unfortunately I'm still here and that fucks me up. But I'll be gone soon and I won't ever have to see another holiday again.

And if you're in a culture that celebrates the lunar new year as well, you get *two* new year celebrations to deal with. Ugh.
