Doc appt today hoping for Meto :)

Hey all wish me luck!! I'm just really hoping this works first go and I don't have to go to another doctor or find more workarounds.

I'm going to tell him my Zofran (Odan) isn't working for my migraine nausea/puking and that I can't handle the constipation side effect (I don't get that but have before and know it's a very common side effect).

I've done my research and couldn't find any info on Meto causing constipation.unless I skip that part and just say the Zofran isn't working. Idk just kind of venting, it's exciting. Once that prescription is in my hand I'll feel okay. I can't explain. I'm actuallu smiling for the first time in a long time knowing in an hour I could have that script in hand. It's just very exciting and haven't felt this positivity in a long time. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Edit I know I sound like I'm overthinking it but like this is important! I don't want to say the wrong thing and screw up. Esp since this is a new doctor and we don't have a relationship, ya know. Hoping for the best

I know docs in my area have a only prescribe one med, and "don't know of any others" to prescribe for things (like they get a kickback or something).

But hopefully you can get what you're wanting!

You're very welcome! I think that your plan has a very good chance at success since you've already been taking Zofran for a while and medications do stop working from time to time. Aww, thank you so much! You are so sweet! I've not been having the best 48 hours at all so it truly made me smile when I read that. Update: didn't get it. Also have a 102 fever and horrible cough and he wouldn't even give me a cough syrup screw big pharma lol.

Thank you for all the kind words! He told me to go to a stomach doctor. Big face plant. Even when I finally gave in and mentioned it by name he "hadn't heard of it". Okay doc

I'm fortunate enough to have decent insurance until May... hahaha people doctor shop for pain meds, and I'm doctor shopping for this. Lmao. I might check into one of the online options I've been suggested; I hate the risk so I'll make another appointment but also keep an eye online.

Yeah... that's kind of the issue I had when I outright told the one doctor I had that the Ondansetron that I had for migraines wasn't working for nausea (for an unrelated thing to migraines), that I had taken it, but I was still throwing up food and nauseous, so I wondered if there was something else, but maybe a different type/class. I was told there were no other types or classes of anti-emetics.

Every single doctor in my area gives Ondansetron. 3 hospitals, all give the same medication. I figure that either 1) they are just bribed, or..... 2) they have access to my psych file, and they know what the other can be used for, and they know I know, and they won't prescribe it because of that.

Didn't want to mention it before as just wanted good vibes so to speak.

Also my old doctor went "private", meaning his appoints are $300 flat, but I know he'll give me what I ask no problem. I'll try to make an appointment with him. My savings don't matter so f it.

Sorry to hear you didn't get it. If you live in the US, I know a website where you can get it legally from migraine physicians.

Never know with doctors. Granted They also say (around me) that the Ondan one is great for cancer patients, therefore it's like great for everyone.

Um I don't want to give you an answer because I've seen both and don't want to give wrong info! People apparently have used just Zofran, I've even made threads asking and the answers are mixed. A lot of people have CBT with just Zofran tho. I hope you find an adequate answer!

Yeah it is good, granted the one time with the one sickness, it didn't actually help me (could've been because the doctor gave me a liquid for some unknown reason over pills.

I got the other though shortly after just.... well from the obvious ways.

I'm pissed I couldn't get a cough syrup even more at this point lol I'm miserable and react weird to OTC cough syrups. I'm not gonna start a phenergen/codeine ring on a one day supply lol. Oh well at least I have Zolpidem to get sleeps through the night. Throat hurts like hell >.<

I ordered meto on eBay and it was delivered into my mail box no problem, but I'm in Spain and it was shipped from Spain too so maybe it being in the same country and that it didn't have to cross borders helped, I'm not sure if I'm honest, just a suggestion maybe to try online like eBay.
and I know a bad throat and cough hurts like a bitch and it feels like hell!!! I'm so sorry! And I'm sorry the doc turned out to be like that,I can't comprehend why on earth did he at least not give you a cough syrup, that's insane!
when I have bad throat I like to drink a lot of warm green tea with lemon or honey in it, or both together lemon and honey. It makes me feel a bit better, I don't think it has to be green tea I just prefer green to black.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. As others have suggested maybe E-Bay … not sure if it will work or not. There was a post almost a year ago that someone was banned for searching for items to CTB. Maybe look them up when you aren't signed in first ???
