I think the majority are simply dumb or even stupid, otherwise our planet wouldn't be in the state that it is in now,

Yeah, I think we're often lobotomized by family, schools, media, jobs... Even in ideal conditions, it takes practice to level up your intellectual & moral virtues. But they make it overly hard

And there's so much dysfunction when you try to talk with people to expand your mind; they're cutting you off, one-upping you, etc. And attack forums with too much free speech...

I don't think most people are dumb, I think that most people just don't allow themselves to think. Maybe that's why they're so happy. Maybe once you start thinking about the world you start to see why it's so bad.

I don't think intelligence is that great of a virtue to begin with. Intelligence alone doesn't get you to a place of value. You can be very intelligent and completely callous or evil-- fully compatible. That's why intelligence is so overvalued. People have this feeling that if only we were smarter... then we'd be able to do the right things. No. Not how it works at all. This confusion is not a function of our stupidity, either. It's not like our intelligence holds us back from understanding this.

It's a function of how much we value the wrong things. Just like a Killer Whale can be thought of as "very intelligent", but it will terrorize conscious things for entertainment. If you could "inject it with more intelligence", that... would not really solve the problem. The problem is other traits. Once you get that, then you get the human version of this problem.

But I also think in additional, most people don't have the time to look into things. They work, come home to their family, drink and go to sleep. But the average American watches something like 4 hours of TV a day. I think many people also just don't have curiosity - I'm guessing people used to have to know more practical things like how to fix more things so maybe some of it has just become complacency. "Why would I need to know that when it's on the internet?" I think some of it also cultural. I can think of some examples.

But yes, I think most people are drones.

I don't rlly know a experienment that involves conformity but think like media, this site for example, the media says it's bad so ppl believe it's bad without fact checking. This is an example of pack mentality.
As for the tendency to follow authority, there is the famous electricution experienment, where subjects are told by a figure of authority to repeatedly electrocute someone and to keep goign even though they are begging to be spared. The result was that most ppl just followes orders. And this is what makes a lot of humans ignorant and stupid, they will not think about things like if suicide should be allowed because they have been told their entire life that it isn't. So it must be a bad thing.

Why do most people conform? Is it like peer pressure or something? I think that I'm a deviant because I was born to rebel. Maybe it's because of my neurodivergence and the fact that my brain just doesn't work the same way as other people's…

I think it really depends. Everyone has their areas of expertise and areas where they're no better than a zombie in. I'm good at 'common sense' and logic-style things as well as the sciences whereas the people in my town probably aren't whatsoever, but I sure as hell couldn't do some of the things they can, even any of the menial things like fixing pipes or anything electrical. I get completely stumped when it comes to that and I look at them like geniuses for fixing what appear to be the most basic issues.

I think what you're thinking of, OP, is the issue of education and propaganda and whatnot. Lots of that going around today, such that everyone seems to have lost a little bit of nuance, even you probably. That's not something pure 'intelligence' (how do you even define that?) can overcome; it demands higher education and information, which is something not everyone has access to unfortunately.
