I don't really understand why people need to know this, I mean after all people die everyday and of course we are all going to die anyway. It's nothing really to do with us if people are successful in their ctb or not.

Revisiting this old post/thread......Do you know anyone who posted here and died? Actually had a successful exit from their pain?!

We can mainly assume based off of posts being made. Some people have claimed to be loved ones of people who have died, people make posts about their CTB attempts and then never show back up (so it's assumed it was successful), etc.

There's also news articles where families/etc have linked their suicides related to information on here. In fact, there's actually a LOT of news articles and studies about it. Sometimes they don't name SaSu by name, but it'd be safe to assume it's related to us. An example would be "Survival after self‐poisoning with sodium nitrite: A case report" in which it states "Unfortunately, online forums exist that detail how to dose sodium nitrite for suicide." and whatnot. This is just an example, there's a lot of other resources on Sodium Nitrite self-poisoning that connects it back to the forums.

If you're asking if the admins "verify" someone's death, e.g with a death certificate, then no - it's hard to 100% say for sure.

Based on external resources and information, as well on internal information with user's posts, it's safe to assume that some people were successful.

I asked because so many people on this site make it seem like it's so incredibly hard to find a a successful method. It's very discouraging but then someone like you says that many people here have died which is very encouraging. It's confusing..... :-/

There's a CO thread for a user (can't remember her username now) that talked through her last hours. Several users on this site were able to find a news story about a local girl who committed suicide by CO. I think the news article even referenced her posting on a "pro-suicide" site. Another user named Hope=-) posted her last day here. I had joined recently and she was extremely kind.

Attempts will always depend on many factors. Some of them are out of the person's control. So results will always vary depending on the person. Though, it's easier to find people who didn't get the desired end result, counting if it's "successful", it's not like they're going to send anyone any updates :P

But yes, there's been more than plenty of people who have gotten their desired result - but you should always do research on several methods beforehand to find out which method you'd be most comfortable with before doing anything, if it's something you wish to do. It's more than just finding personal preferences when it comes to finding a method, sometimes it has to do with whether or not something is practical in your situation.

there are documentaries in youtube about people committing suicide with the aid of SS, they found out they're members here so people actually do successfully ctb.

I exchanged a few msgs with someone who planned to CTB and then their name was crossed through and I assume they succeeded. I can't be sure though. I was shocked, even though they'd told me they planned to. I guess because they didn't send a last msg saying goodbye or that they were gonna do it right then and I felt bad I didn't get a chance to say goodbye. I hope they are at peace now if they did CTB.
