Do you feel neglected because of overpopulation?

Do you feel neglected because of the overpopulation? There are so many others that are even better. The more people there are, the less value each individual gets. And yet people continue to multiply on an overpopulated planet. We live in a world of stupidity that will destroy itself.

Yes, that is the reason why so many of us feel alone. I think I might have said this on another thread, but when there's so many people in the world, the people who are suffering get lost in the crowd and no one has the time or willingness or empathy to help out. Maybe we have all become desensitized to the misery around us...

There is definitely a feeling of being completely expendable, like the whole world and every nook and cranny is already so oversaturated that you'll never mean anything or make a real difference

I don't think overpopulation is the only issue leading to that result, but probably a big part of it. It feels like there's an "overpopulation" of technology, ideas, people, issues, everything, that just keeps growing and growing until it inevitably all falls apart

It sometimes does feel that way, but it makes me wonder why articles pop up about nations not having enough children. (I mean why would someone want to bring children into this world right now anyways.....)

No. Overpopulation is a temporary problem.
The rate of growth has been slowing down in recent years. The industrialized world's population is decreasing. It's rising in the US largely due to immigration. And even in China, their demographics have been showing signs of slowing due to factors such as declining birth rates and an aging population.

I don't personally feel the need to compare my self worth to other people…

Overpopulation has been devastating for most other creatures that humans were supposed to share the planet with. It has been 66 million years since we've seen such loss of biodiversity.

It has also led to a loss of community for humans. Yet governments want more young people to pay taxes as huge numbers of older folk enter retirement.

The only counterargument is that in an underpopulated society (e.g. a hunter-gatherer community) there would obviously be no technology and no services. Average lifespans would be low and conditions harsh. Hence, it seems a happy medium is desirable.

My value decreases in overpopulation. I disappear in overpopulation. My words on the Internet become quite insignificant because of overpopulation - there are so many other threads to read.

I'm not sure it'd be any different if we were less populated. If there were only a million humans on the planet, I think you'd still feel insignificant because our brains aren't meant to deal with more than like 50-100 people. So anything above that is beyond our capacity.

Overpopulation can sometimes mean not everyone has to be drafted to war if there are enough abled soldiers in service. idk, sometimes being useless and/or insignificant is good.

Not really. For me, I feel like there would need to be three times as many people just to make it likely enough for me to find someone who'd make me less lonely.

Such irony that there should be more people out there we can relate to and be accepted and loved by than ever, but it's making us lonelier and more insignificant.

I feel I'm pretty shitty already and even in a group of 100 humans I wouldn't belong, though I know I have better odds in this big world it just feels worse.
There is no good way to connect to those kindred spirits in such a vast sea. Even here among the downtrodden there is a lot of bitterness thrown around, for it's different poisons that bring us to our knees and begging for the end.

And when we lose one we felt a bond with, damn is that devastating. The time to find just one good connection.
