i honestly hope reincarnation isnt real because thinking about coming back and reliving life after ive died and tried so hard to die brings knots into my stomach. i simply cant live life again- feels like torture. (not judging anyone's beliefs, if thats what u believe then thats okay!)
This question gets asked a lot in this forum, however, I personally do not believe in reincarnation. What could be more horrible than having to keep coming back to this cruel earth in different body vessels? It is mostly a Buddhist/Hindu belief system. I am Catholic (not a devout or anything) so I will stick with that. I do believe that the soul, or consciousness may go elsewhere though. However, I haven't died (yet) so I have no way to determine that with any kind of certainty. I have watched a lot of documentaries about Near Death experiences and DMT trips. Those seem to be the closest personal accounts that we have at the moment. And if there is nothing there is nothing. We just have to accept it.
i don't really think about life after death, including reincarnation. I don't like the idea of reincarnation though. Dying just to be reborn and potentially enduring an even worse life scares me. Whatever happens after death I just hope it's better.

i think after Death a human ceases to exist forever. There's no reincarnation nor afterlife possible.
there are hundreds of ways science proves there is no soul evolution books , neuroscience , the Cell books, genetics, DNA etc.
Neuroscience alone proves there is no soul .consiousness does not exist independently of a brain. a human is a brain. The brain continously changes . a person is different every year even every day . this might not be obvious but I see I was something different at age 1 week , 1 year 3 years, 5 years 10 years 15 years 20 years. not only did i look different but I thought differently , had different beliefs different consciousness
So there is no constant self no constant me . but according to reincarnation , afterlife beliefs there is a constant you a soul that is eternal and just changes bodies or locations ( heaven hell etc. ) That doesn't make any sense to me as I don't see any details of any soul and why does it change as the brain changes the self me you ?
Neuroplasticity, also known as brain plasticity, is the brainās ability to change as a result of experience. Learn how it works and how the brain can change.
Neuroplasticity is the brainās capacity to continue growing and evolving in response to life experiences. Plasticity is the capacity to be shaped, molded, or altered; neuroplasticity, then, is the ability for the brain to adapt or change over time, by creating new neurons and building new networks.
Thomas Metzingerās book, āThe Ego Tunnel,ā makes a stunning contribution to the insight that a self does not inherently exist. Metzingerās work now brings neuroloā¦
definitely. i have memories of my past lives as well as dying, being dead/between lives & being reborn as a baby. i wish there was just nothing after death and i try and convince myself that its the most logical thing but my own experiences sort of force me to believe.
I hope for reincarnation, BUT (considering the info above, about that the soul keeps on living. My soul needs to ble restored and fixed first! No way around it! Lol

I hope it isn't real either but honestly we'll never know. I'd hate to have to come back here and live life as a human again. Some people say that reincarnation is real though but it can't be scientifically proven so idk. Btw is that Beomgyu in your pfp?

I don't believe in it, but I would wanna be reborn just once, just to know what it's like to be on the winning side of life. I wanna know what it's like to be tall and handsome and have every girl lust for you and everyone likes you and respects you. And I wanna know what it's like to have a lot of money. There's a whole other side to life we know nothing about because of the card we were dealt at birth.
In my youth I was a Hindu monk and believed in reincarnation in a literal sense. Now I see it more as a thought experiment to help to understand the implications of our actions.
Still there's a part of me that's afraid it's real, because I don't want anymore after this.

I have really nice friends so I'd be happy to come back as their child. Infact I hope I do more than anything. To get another shot at life and do it better.
I think believing in reincarnation is supposed to be a mortal sin in my religion lmao (although so is suicide). I guess I hope it exists, since there is a lot I would go back and redo.

Were you able to choose your parents and/or current life?
I have a philosophical argument for atheistic reincarnation but I don't talk too much about it because I don't want to disturb others. This world has left me scarred and I for real don't want to come back. I used to be afraid of eternal nothingness but sounds so much better than just coming back non-stop.

Oh okay. Ugh this is so unfair though. I never asked or wanted to be a human being anyways. I wanted to be a cat in my next life but I'll probably end up being a human again according to this because I have no choice or input in what I'll be What do you think the "bigger" scheme is?

I think we're all bound to existence in some way or the other. Does existence means human existence I don't know. Nothing just disappears from this world. Everything is energy that forms and reforms. There might even be parallel universes ethereal energy can switch. That would be a "bigger" scheme. Maybe we get to choose the form we reincarnate into. Maybe we have some sort of influence somehow.
i started having these memories when i was a little kid, and i always remembered being born. i have had many lives, even as animals and aliens. when we die our souls return to a sort of universal consciousness. when i was born i was torn from it and placed into my body. i don't remember being able to think but i know it was scary, cold, lonely. the universal consciousness is perfect oneness and total lack of self so being alone again was extremely disturbing, its burned into my mind.
No, I very strongly believe that once we die we just eternally cease existing. Any of the other theories are simply fictional to me, death is nothing more than a dreamless and eternal sleep where all is forgotten about.
I believe there's a recycling of consciousness. Each individual, when they die, they cease to exist forever, yes, but new individuals (not just people but animals too) will keep being born and "you" will be one of them, understand? Just think of some random dude who died. What happened to him? He died, there's no afterlife or anything, but then you got born, he kinda got reincarnated as you, see what i mean? He didn't get reincarnated as in his spirit transferred from his body to yours (i don't even believe in spirits), but new beings will keep being born and we'll always have consciousness. Now make of that what you will, it'll probably be very depressing for a lot of people, but that's what i believe in.

Oh wow that's pretty amazing. Thank you for sharing. Heck yea I can imagine it's unsettling. I wonder if Souls that are more close to "oneness" so to speak feel more whole in Universal consciousness than others who maybe more t. It's great that through your experience you are so much more enlightened. I guess after many lifetimes your knowledge and sight becomes more clear to these things. Could you feel like you've been "there" for awhile before being attached to a physical body again or was it more instantaneous, if you could tell??

thank you for listening to my experiences. i always feel like people will just laugh at me there isnt a sense of time "there" so i couldnt say. if youve ever experienced ego death its sort of like that.
