Reading a news article about a suicide would only make me envy the person that has died as they cannot suffer anymore. It does make suicide seem so much easier than it actually is when you hear about all these people who have successfully ctb with methods like hanging. If that method was actually that easy then there wouldn't be endless discussions about it on here. Life already motivates me enough to want to ctb, as I have a strong dislike for existence and I could never see life as being worth living, but only it's difficult for me to actually leave this life behind.

That's a really excellent question! I've been obsessively looking at celebrity suicides, I'm not quite sure why, not sure if it is for motivation. Kind of just familiarity, getting comfortable with it, feeling validated a little when people with a lot to loose may still choose it. Come to think of it it isn't a great reason lol. But I think mainly to get comfortable with the idea, and it helps me calm down

I listen to near-death experience accounts. They offer the most consoling information about what happens when our bodies die.
I'm really looking forward to making my transition to the other side.

Motivation - no of course not but I read suicide related news items with interest to find out more about the methods used by the person. For example where I live, the preferred methods seem to be ingesting pesticides and hanging.

I also get a feeling of envy that they were able to successfully ctb. I also get the same feeling reading about someone passing away in an accident.
