I would think it a good idea to leave a hand written note specifying that it was a suicide and that no one else was involved. I imagine they would still investigate after any unnatural death but I'm sure you could make it clear it was self inflicted.

I'm trying to figure out the compression method, since it's the only one you can do without an anchor point, and strangulation is often used in homicides but I'm sure they would look at my laptop so I'll just leave obvious things on my laptop.

likely sufficient but also leaving a hand written note is easy enough. just one sentence can be better than nothing

Not really. They have a lot of experience in these things. They will do an autopsy. Its common for people to die where other people are at natural ways or not. If nothing is done nothing to fear about. If you worry about it though just leave a note, they will compare your handwriting with a professional and problem solved.
