  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Do I have the right to leave my family that has spent so much of their time and money taking care of me?

Am I morally obligated to pay them back for the heaps of wasted money they spent on me?

Am I morally obligated to be filial to them and take care of them once they get older since they have taken care of me at my worst?

Sorry for all of these questions, but nothing is clear to me.

You never really asked to be pulled into this world against your will, so your bodily autonomy should be yours to do with as you please.

I see where you're coming from, but I'm not sure. I am a horrible person that has caused them a lot of pain and suffering. They do so much for me everyday. I feel guilty, and they also expect me to take care of them when they're older.

Hey listen I and im pretty sure alot of other people have to struggle with these same thoughts and I know how troubling it is to want to do it for yourself and struggle with how much your family has provided and given up just to try to set you up for life.

Sometimes however life just isnt meant for all of us but its your own risk benefit analysis <3

I do wish you the best with dealing with this conundrum

You shouldn't have to prolong suffering for somebody else, pretty much every single human being is selfish when it comes down to it, why should self termination be any different?

I often wonder the same, leaving family members behind is truly tragic, but staying and living for them is also tragic for myself. There are no winners in this game, there will be suffering regardless and that's the hardest part of being suicidal and having a family that has given so much.

The reality is that, at the end of the day, morality is extremely subjective. The answer for your questions and the gravity of your decision is only yours to judge.

I hope that you find a conclusion that gives you some peace of mind, regardless of what it is.

I battle with these thoughts too... sometimes you have to put yourself first over concerns for others to allow your best self to thrive... that may be the best pay back for others 'investment' in you. Ultimately they are responsible for their actions and choose to be there for you, they do so with risk that the end may not be the story they hoped for. Live your best life for you and Stay Beautiful x

Are you sure you're as horrible as you feel? To even have the self awareness and concern for others you have tells me you're far from horrible. In our own pain we can unintentionally cause others hurt and suffering, but that doesn't mean you are horrible (some people are just dicks of course, be wary of others lol). Maybe they are doing all this now in the hope you'll live beyond them and support them when they need, but they may also be doing it because they want to help you now too?
I don't know if you're able to talk to them and hear it from their side at all. Whatever you do, always put you first.

This is something I am really struggling with too. Sorry I don't have an answer for you . I am so convinced in my mind that I want to ctb but my family has been so loving and caring for me.
