Hey,

I always have those sucidal thoughts and also clear plans about CTBing and I don't wanna die - not yet. Because now I still have something to live for. But I always have to think of CTB, also when I feel well, I'm dreaming or right after I woke up.
So there's my question: How can I distract myself of those thoughts and think of something different? I'm cutting my self or hitting my head against the wall for example but it doesn't really help. I also can't really think of something different while school, meeting friends or doing sports... I have those thoughts every time :( Maybe you can help me? :3

I'am wondering what is causing your suicidal thoughts to begin with. I don't think this is the same for everyone. Are you on any medications? I could tell you something that worked for me in the past but it takes daily work and repetition to interrupt the unconscious nasty inner critic. If you want to know what it entails u can message me. You won't even realize how mean the inner critic is until u start to fight back against it daily. Then you start to catch it when the unconscious thoughts turn negative and can pull yourself out of the bad thoughts quicker. What it does is you become more mindful about the messages you tell yourself.

Hmm, I think you can try finding out what are you interested in, find some hobbies and spend more time on that, try to set some goals in life and reach them. Sometimes, if you are ok (just having some suicide thoughts coming from nowhere) it might help you a bit. At least, just try, you won't lose anything. Ofc I am not a pro lifer and sorry for sounding like that. I just tried all of that for myself and unfortunately I am being ill ... mentally ill. So this did not help me enough, but (!) this may help you in your struggle. To be honest, I want you to get past that suicidal thought and become wealthy. And I actually do hope you will be all right, mate. In other case, we are here and opened for you. Remember : on this forum, we will supoort you whichever option you choose and ready to help you. As I said, try to distract you as much as you can ! :) Probably some new acquaintances, friends, hobbies. I know this helps a lot to many others who do not intend to ctb. I hope it will work for you, wish you all the best and if something is wrong - we are here

I don't take any medications. But the main reason for my thoughts are my parents, especially my mom. I had to hear death threats by my mom almost every week and other things. I became depressed, got a social phobia and a sleep and anxiety disorder... Now after all these years I still not feel better.
And you wrote about something that worked for you. May you tell me pls how that worked? You can write me a dm or write it here because I'm sure there are some others who could need that too ;)

Yeah I already tried all of that and it also didn't help me and that's the reason why I'm asking here for some tips... And I'm sorry to hear that those things didn't help you enough, but I your're already on the right forum to get helped;)

@NoReasonToLive Do you have a best, best friend or someone important to you that you really connect with? Having someone can be not only a distraction but also a reason to stay. If not a person, then as others in here have mentioned, their pets have helped towards their recovery.

Yes I have 2 best friends. I can talk to both about everything but the one doesn't completely understand my problems because he never had something like this. My other best friend is also depressed and suicidal so I can talk to her about all my problems. But she lives mor than 300 kilometers away. So I have two friends who are worth to live for and I also have a pet that I love. But all these things can't really discract or help me towards my recovery...

I know what you mean. I cling to things hoping they'll be enough but when I'm on my own and overthinking, the urge to ctb is so strong.

Perhaps meditation will help you a bit? Just sit down and feel your body and if thoughts come to your mind, just notice them (oh hello, it's you again, suicide thought) and let them pass. Because they are thoughts, they are in us, but they are not reality.
This needs practise (at least a few weeks), but later on you possibly come to the point that a thought comes (e.g. I complain about bad weather, I wanna ctb, I wanna ice cream, I fear about the test tomorrow,...) and you don't get affected by them, because you know it's just like a noisy radio host. And so over time they become less important. Never forget: You are not your thoughts

Thanks I'm going to try that
