My ctb date is in a few weeks, and I'm a bit worried at the thought of leaving the SN around after I've used it. There's been a ctb in my family a few months ago, and with my own now, I would feel better if I were able to dispose of it before I left. Anybody know how this can be done safely? Is anyone else planning on trying to get rid of the SN? Thank you~

I will leave it behind and make a reference to it on my note.
Hopefully that will make it unecessary for them to make an autopsy, but i doubt it.
Also there is the risk of my mother using it to kill herself too, as she already treatened.
It will also mean that they will become more aware of SN, but should they do an autopsy and they would find out anyway.
I'm in a small country and i suicides are fairly rare so should i leave it behind, i won't be jeopardizing SN for y'all.

But the disposal itself should be easy enough.
Put it in the midst of a trash bin, put it on the toilet and pull the flush; throw it on a lake; burn it; lots of things you can do.

Is it safe to simply throw away like that? Or to flush down the toilet? No danger of fire or erosion?

Well, tbh, i don't know much of chemistry but i think it's very unlikely it will cause any damage, it's a salt after all.
It also depends on how much are you trying to throw away.

Generally it looks like small(ish) amounts can go right down the drain.

I've thought about this as well. The only thing I could come up with to assure nobody will be harmed is preparing the drink, then going outside to dig a small hole in the yard, dumping the salt into it (it's only a 200g canister) and covering the hole.

This is a great idea. Not sure it's possible for me, but will keep in mind.

leave it by your body and the police will take it away along with notes etc as part of the investigation process

It reacts with metals, it is a poisonous substance, so, don't flush it down the drain. Leave the remains in the tub. Better so.
