I cannot find a reliable way to do this. I'm too scared and a huge part of me does not want to leave my child. So I know I won't be able to do this myself. My physical suffering is progressing horrifically fast.

I'm looking again at Dignitas. It isn't perfect but it feels a much better option for me. I just need to make sure I'm not waiting forever to be approved. Apparently they also charge you 10k.

I have not got that kind of money.

Does anyone know much about the dignitas process or know others who have used them?

I have seen the well edited videos. I hate that I would have to go alone to save my poor family x

Hi, I don't know anything much about Dignitas except what is readily available on the internet. I'm sorry for your predicament. Regarding the funding side, have you thought about some sort of crowdfunding or just giving page outlining your story or something? Also look at LifeCircle for comparison costs

Thank you for your post. My only reluctance with crowd funding is my son finding out or seeiing it. His father still thinks I am just weak of mind despite my multiple horrific health issues. I don't want any misinformation at all.
I will look at the other provider.

Read their website and contact them for details about the process.

600 bucks for N from A, or 10,000 bucks for a room at Dignitas and some doctor/nurse to hand you the cup of N. I don't really get it tbh.

With Dignitas you're not dying alone and in hiding, you can openly arrange your affairs and say bye to people so they have some amount of closure, you don't have to worry about the cops, don't have to worry about being saved. For me it would also be peace of mind that my desire to die is truly valid.

I don't get why Dignitas costs so much.

They have a breakdown of costs on their website. Some of the costs are just travel or hotel, plus paying multiple doctors out of pocket, legal costs for the organization, etc

It is well worth the price to have a person there to make sure I actually do die and I'm not discovered paralyzed a couple days later and rushed to the hospital to live the rest of my life with brain, heart and lung damage.

Plus they take care of stuff like disposing of the body. Not to mention that it would mean the world to me to have someone who understands there with me when I die.

If you compare costs, it's not much more expensive than dying at home. Cremation, funeral, and legal paperwork related to death comes out to over $5-6k in the US anyway, plus the cost of supplies and a hotel room.

That makes sense. I didn't know the after death costs were factored in.

but you can only do this if you have 10k gbp which a lot of people like me dont .and they charge you 3k gbp upfront which is non refundable if your not given the freen light .thats a rip off that part i think .

I don't think it's a rip off because their staff still has to get paid to evaluate you. Its like how your doctor gets paid for the appointment when you go get a flu test even if it turns out you don't have the flu. But more expensive.

Their brochure is really detailed about what costs are covered. I don't know the link but I've found it on the site before.

A big stumbling block is going to be the absolute wan*** of the medical profession whom I've had to deal with. I need detailed reports from them and 2 of the conditions I have can be truly horrific but they downplay it and pat you on the head/ put it down to anxiety etc. I have had arguments with doctors in trying to get my various conditions diagnosed. Begged them to do certain tests as I was sure I had x and y. Of course I did have those conditions and forked out alot to get the right tests to prove it.
If any do gooder pr*** doctor stands in my way I will go insane. Because I can still walk and talk the level of suffering is completely overlooked.

Lots of money to be made in death. More so out of sickness though. It's a gravy train for most the doctors seeing me - and doing f all. I will appeal to Dignitas for some sort of concession as I haven't got 2 pennies left to rub together

The issue I have with these organizations is (a) Dignitas' ghastly blue corragated metal exit house is on an industrial estate and looks like a slum, and (b) LifeCircle tells you really sweet FA.

I've been a member of LifeCircle for years and still have NO idea what is going on. Haven't a clue where exactly they are nor where the exit location is or what it looks like.

I appreciate the need for sensitive discretion for these two organizations but for 10,000 euros average, we should expect a bit more!

I know - I'm so naive I thought it would be a little wooden Swiss chalet on a mountain side with a flower filled verandah and a mountain/lake view

But I guess that would make it tricky for the practical side of things

Dignitas is located in an industrial area. I think they just put your corpse out with the non-recyle rubbish...:-)
