• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

  • Security update: At around 2:28AM EST, the site was labeled as malicious by Google erroneously, causing users to get a "Dangerous site" warning in most browsers. It appears that this was done by mistake and has been reversed by Google. It may take a few hours for you to stop seeing those warnings.

If you're still getting these warnings, please let a member of staff know.

rather than at least 'members only'? for me i was worried that coercion people could see my posts then, but I was afraid to exclude people who were safe but hadn't made an account.

I wonder how others thought about their privacy settings?

I didn't really care so I put it on anyone. Maybe I'll put it on members only but I'm not sure

The distinction between members only and anyone confuses me tbh. You can access members' profiles, assuming they've chosen to make it visible in their settings, by clicking on their username. Alternatively, you will be able to see their new profile posts under "New Profile Posts". But, if you don't have an account (and you can obviously test this by logging out) you simply can't click on usernames, and the "New Profile Posts" tab doesn't appear for you. So there is no way to see profiles, even those whose visibilities have been set to anyone. I thought that perhaps one would be able to access these profiles with a direct link but after testing it out, this doesn't seem to be the case either.

TLDR: It seems that even if you set your profile visibility to anyone, non-members still won't be able to access it. So you don't have to worry about anything.

It doesn'matter if you set your profile to private or not. Everyone can read all of your posts. If you click on messages under someone's avatar, you can read all of their posts including those on their profile page even when they have it set to private.
