So I have had a family member who suffered for years from a painful illness. She always talked about how painful life is for her and how much she wishes to die because of her suffering.
The whole time I felt really bad for her and didn't know what to do.
I talked to my family members about this, and they just said that she didn't really mean that.
I asked them to at least let me contact Dignitas about her, but they refused.
She is now dead at last, and I am happy that she doesn't suffer anymore.
The lesson that I took from this whole deal was that I shouldn't trust anyone to care about my suffering, if I ever get into such a painful situation myself. I should care for myself, and make sure I have available ways out if I ever need them.
Did anyone else have those experiences with suffering loved ones?
