Help delete old private chats?

Hello I'm taking an L today but how do I delete or exit old private chats? Upon opening my message tab I was met with overwhelming forgotten relic chats. It fucks with my OCD. I'm currently on mobile, maybe that's it? I've figured it out before.

Idk about mobile browser but when you are in the private chats, hover over a username on the right and you will find an x

You can exit and delete the chat on your side. However the chat remains available for the other one until they also leave and delete the chat.
