I'm trying to figure out a way to contact emergency services 12-24 hours after I CTB as I plan to do it in a motel or airbnb and I would rather spare anyone who doesn't have the training and experience to handle finding a dead body not be the one to find mine.

I'm in oz. I'm going to research whether there's a way to delay a call to a local ambulance/police/fire station, rather than dialing triple zero (because that requires pressing more buttons to choose a prompt). Maybe a delayed email to various services would work?

I've been thinking what else I could do, and if I had the smarts I might be able to rig a smoke-machine by the door or window to start up when I need it to, but.. yeah, I don't think I can manage that :ahhha:

Anyone have any tips?

This was my own "delayed send" tactic when I wanted to CTB back in April and May: postal mail. A few hours before CTB'ing, I was going to drop a letter into the mailbox, directed to my city's police department. The letter would have my home address and entry instructions. The people finding my body would be trained officers, who wouldn't get traumatized by seeing it. And since I planned to CTB in the evening, the letter wouldn't get picked up by the mail carrier until next day, when I'd be safely on the bus. It'd be in a plain white envelope, with the police station's address and my return address on the outside, nothing suspicious.

It's the best of both words, with the multi-day delivery time of the postal service working in my favor. My body would be found and given a proper funeral. But the police wouldn't barge in and "rescue" me before I want them to, since they won't have read the letter until after I'm dead.

I found it. It took about three hours of searching through my city's listings. I was lucky. I hope it exists for you.

I remember on the application version of Outlook -- not the web version -- you can delay sending your e-mails. And of course, there is also a 911 e-mail address that you can send your e-mail too. If you have a laptop with a WiFi or LTE connection, your e-mail will arrive when you want it to. The wonders of modern technology!

You could try asking someone to call/text them for you, if you can trust them not to interfere.
Or you could try a delayed texting app.

Hope this helps!

Unfortunately I don't have anyone I can trust.

That's a great idea! I may actually use this one..

Yeah, since I can't text them and calling them is too tricky, email might be the way to go. The mail thing is a good idea too.

The others have good suggestions with texts, emails, and even postal mail. One thing I will add is that with postal mail (through the mail carriers) is that once you send the mail, you are not able to retract/cancel the mail once it is sent.

If you have a recent Samsung phone it offers delayed messaging as an option in the default messenger program.
