There is an article out there and a post here about a woman getting arrested for murdering her husband by putting drops of visine in his drinks over a few days. I've been trying to find the symptoms of tetrahydrozoline, but to no avail yet. If anyone has done research or knows of any info on this, please share. Thanks :)
Here's the article: https://www.thedailybeast.com/a-wom...her-husband-by-putting-eye-drops-in-his-water

This is the best I could locate. Tetrahydrozoline is Visine.

Tetrahydrozoline (hydrochloride) - Toxicity Data: Oral TDLO (child): 175 mg/kg; Oral LD50 (rat): 785 mg/kg; Intraperitoneal LD50 (rat): 122 mg/kg; Subcutaneous LD50 (rat): 500 mg/kg; Oral LD50 (mouse): 345 mg/kg; Oral LD50 (mouse): 345 mg/kg; Intraperitoneal LD50 (mouse): 110 mg/kg;

edit:

So, we're talking about an LD50 (50% probability of Dose being Lethal) of:

8-lb baby: 2½ to 5½ liters of Visine (0.05% API)

This is between 85 and 193 one-fluid ounce bottles.

160-lb adult: 50 to 114 liters of Visine (0.05% API)

This is between 1,694 and 3,853 one-fluid ounce bottles.

It was unclear in the article how much fluid she put in his drink, but from the sound of it, it wasn't that much.

Hmm it sounds like this happened over multiple days and the dude was in his mid-60s, wish there was more info.

A South Carolina woman has been charged with murder and unlawful malicious tampering of food after she allegedly admitted to killing her husband by putting eye drops in his water over several days

...poisoned her 64-year-old husband Steven by spiking his water with the drops.

It's a very rare case though; there have been many other poisonings all of which didn't lead to anything more than a hospital visit

I know a bartender who used to put a few drops in someone's drink if they were being an asshole, just to give them uncontrollable diarrhea.

Certainly can't imagine it being a pleasant way to go.

Oh wow... 3000 approximate 1 ounce bottles? I guess my little half ounce wouldn't send me to the bus station anytime soon or would be a laughable attempt to catch the bus.

I guess I'll just throw it away now.

That figures, just my luck. Thank you for helping me not waste any effort on that with your valuable mathematics. I am not very good at this.
Maybe I just need to move to Switzerland or something.

Wow, So that would cost around $9000? And how many years and Can you imagine the look on the store clerk's face when you try to ring up a couple of thousand Visine bottles? Lol... to collect the median range number of about 2,500 one ounce bottles of Visine?

Back :notsure:to the drawing board.

It's so sad when these people murder their own husband, wife, relative, etc. it's like can't they just get a divorce? And they're always caught, they are evil and they're also idiots. I just don't understand it.

To catch the bus though, it looks like many people are saying it would take a couple of thousand 1 ounce bottles, unless I misunderstood something.

Doesn't really seem like the Way to go over a period of many days anyway. I'd rather catch my bus within a few hours or less.

He collected two life insurance policies afterwards.. so much greed in the world.
To be honest I have no idea. The article made it sound like this stuff was lethal once ingested. Never mentioned that it was done over time.

My tax accountant teacher who is also a divorce lawyer told me some marriages you can't get out of because of financial ruin they will follow them for the rest of their life. They are essentially trapped.
