Ctb is another form of murdering somebody.you are a murderer if u ctb.u kill yourself.that is why it is so hard to do it.normal ppl dont go around murdering ppl unless they are forced.it takes a lot of courage too..

Suicide and murder both involve killing, but they are two different things. One is killing the body you own, which would be an exercise in freedom of choice and release from suffering. Killing someone else would be taking away their freedom of choice and preventing them from living the life they want to live.

Check google, murder is explicitly one person killing another, not themselves.

Murdering has a much worse negative connotation to it, much worse than suicide. They are two different things from a moral standpoint.

But I understand what you mean, taking a life is a big deal, all the persons memories, relations, happy moments, gone. Both killing through suicide and murder share those similarities. The person is gone.

It's debatable whether it takes courage to kill someone else. It's selfish and cowardly if you ask me. I thought this was going to be a scathing attack on how society treats us which for once would be a criticism of the world that was justified

Not these days, at least. Though, historically (and even in a few places these days), suicide is an illegal killing, which would fit the definition of murder.

I do grant that it doesn't make much logical sense to consider suicide murder, but that's only if you come from it from the point of view that you own yourself. The reality is that we're all property of the State or society or however you want to put it.

I cannot argue your logic. Yes; the willful unnecessary taking of a human life is called murder. So in taking a human life; your own or anyone else's places you under the designation of a murderer. And we have been taught all our lives to respect the sanctity of human life. Therefore you end up with the scenario you stated earlier; the need to terminate your own life is paramount to what should be the relief of the pain(s) that drives one to suicide.

I hold multiple degrees in the study of human behavior; aka psychology. The term that comes to mind from all those less than thrilling classroom hours is "Cognitive dissonance". Cognitive dissonance is a condition or state of mind in which a person with a long held belief(s) that are so ingrained that when presented with emprical evidence that disputes or puts that belief at risk of being proved false that they will engage in all types of activities that dispute the new evidence.

Such as the human who is in deep and sometimes debilitating pain from the way their lives have turned out for them and who know that ending their physical lives will likely bring relief but cannot bring themselves to complete the act because of that ingrained sanctity of human life.

I believe that what you are experiencing is a form of Cognitive Dissonance. I am not licensed and am probably not qualified to make a diagnosis but that conclusion seems logical to me.

On a side note; did you know a large group of crows is called a "Murder"?

No, murder is driving someone to ctb. It is dragging them by the arm onto the bus, and leaving in your own nice car. You are so above the hoi polloi you'll neverf catch a bus in your life, whether to the lake or death. :)

I disagree. It's like the difference between murder and manslaughter in that they both involve someone's death but are completely different. Like that, imo, suicide and murder are not the same.

If you assisted someone with suicide then in the U.K. you would be had for manslaugter. To be fair though those that have taken people to Dignitas rarely get arrested.

It's impossible to 'murder' yourself. If you want to regard CTB as self-inflicted punishment that's your business but you're using the word inappropriately.

Murder is against somebody's will. They do not have a choice. Suicide is a choice. How can you murder somebody who is willing?

And if another person murders somebody and the person choose to be killed, that is considered suicide, just having somebody else do it. No difference than antagonizing the police so they will kill you because you are too scared to do it yourself.
