ctb right before family member's birthday?

A close family member's birthday is just around the corner and I am thinking of ctb just a week before that. I love my family very much and I don't want to ruin birthdays and stuff by killing myself off just prior to it. Delaying it would make it too late and carrying on with the plan makes me feel like an asshole.

what do I do?
Give me your opinions, I know it's my decision but I'm out of ideas and I need your help.

I would probably wait until after, but I feel like no matter what time you choose to do it the family members would be sad. Of course you have the right to take your life at any time of your choosing, so I guess it is up to you.

Not really, no. Postponing it would make it much more difficult for me

I suppose you can't elaborate why exactly it would be much more difficult for you. Well, then I guess, it means you either think about yourself first and go before their b-day, or you wait and struggle with it……

Every time will be the worst time to do it. I mean, I don't think there's a perfect time.
There's just the time before you're gone and the time after.
You can't control how other people react to it.

But, I've often delayed because it's not the right time for other people, because of things I think it will be easier for them to accomplish before I do it.
Maybe it would be better to wait til after the birthday even if its harder.
On the other hand, you deserve to be pain free.
I feel like I'm not much help here, sorry.

Personally I've always told myself, no ctb on loved one's birthdays or major holidays. anytime before or after is your choice.

Waiting until after their birthday would mean I'd have to suffer for another 2 weeks. I can't take that. There's too much toxicity. Right now, I'm leaning more towards doing it a week before their birthday. That would have been the perfect time if the birthday wasn't a week later.

Then I guess it means you've already decided everything for yourself. You find it impossible for yourself to wait. Then it's probably not even a choice anymore. It seems like you've already made one. But like some other people said before, there's no really good time for ctb, in terms of the feelings of your loved ones. No matter when you do it, they're gonna be devastated. So I guess in that sense, you do what's best for you

This is probably gonna sound blunt but if you have a truly close relationship with a family member, I don't think it matters when you ctb, they're going to be extremely sad regardless.
