Has anyone else considered CTB on your birthday?

Why celebrate something you had no control over? You were brought into this shit hole of a world, so why not exit on that day?

I am seriously considering setting my date on this day, the only issue is I have to wait until December.

yeah, i wanted to ctb on my 20th birthday on the 9th of december. like go away somewhere like iceland, alone and far away and die alone there.

That was when I wanted to go originally... seems like a good day to go out, so the loved ones don't have two painful anniversaries to mark every year.

Sadly, I succumbed to delusional optimism and had a bunch of loved ones hanging all over me, making it impractical at the time, and I won't make it to my next one. Oh well, such is life.

I strongly considered this, and even posted on here about it. I got some really compelling responses about what kind of message it would send. Like, you could explain in a note that you did it to reduce the pain of two anniversaries - but what about the people who inevitably won't see the note? It could be seen as a resounding 'fuck you' to everyone. So I ended up not doing it... I still think about it though as an option. I almost think it would reduce the pain for people in the long term? But I don't know... it's going to be incredibly painful regardless of what day it happens... I'm not sure any of this is helpful to say - I think maybe I am just as conflicted as ever on the topic

Im not gonna die on my 20th birthday, because that would be in 6 days. But if nothing improves in my life, or even gets worse, then maybe on my 25th, or 30th birthday. Maybe.

That sounds like a good idea. My birthday is two months away, which probably gives me time to prepare myself and to get my supplies. It also allows me to visit my godmother a few more times which is important for me as she is more human than all my family combined and is the only person I personally know that I actually care about. By setting a deadline I'd maybe stop being lazy and delaying the inevitable as well. Other great point is what you mentioned; Killing yourself at your birthday would be a great symbolical display of hate towards being born without your consent. Yeah, that is a fantastic idea actually.

I attempted on my birthday last year with partial hanging (before I found this site) and only failed because of SI. Now that I've changed my method I don't want to wait until late December

i used to have my bday as an "expiration date" of my life...and yet i started thinking that I will do it after..see if something good happens if not then ill go through with it after my bday

I did, but it sounded more like an excuse to delay suicide, I have enough of them as it is.

Think of it the other way, it's your one-time chance to make a special day.
