CTB Gathering/Party?

Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? I saw a reference to it

I vaguely remember someone trying to organize one or referring to one that had happened. I can't find it because at the time I was just lurking on the site before joining

A gathering? A party? It would be pretty difficult to organize something like that for a typical ctb, at least the way society is now, though. It's a really nice thought though, maybe in the future we'll have less of a stigma around self-decided death and people will be more understanding, and a person who is chronically suicidal will have family and friends understanding enough to know their plans and acknowledge that they're not changing, and to have one last celebration of the departed's life. This would be awesome. Society is very far away from reaching this point, however.

The best we have now are suicide partners. I plan on catching the bus with @TransTaxEvader this year. I doubt organizing a suicide party is something that will be possible in our lifetimes.

I wish I'd been in Heaven's Gate. Their method was phenobarbital combined with suffocation, one of the most pleasant ways to die (although it doesn't sound like that). If I had pheno, I'd get creative. That shit will knock you out for (almost) good and it's a good chance to use the environment to your advantage. I'd take pheno outdoors when it's below 0°C – I would freeze to death while comatose.

I like how you paint a picture of what to expect. I spend my time creating fantasy deaths, but with the everyday reality that life can be pretty banal, even with the end of your own life.
