is it possible by xanax, ativan ect to ctb? how much would be needed? i read somewhere that benzos are similar to barbiturates in some ways.

I'm happy for someone to tell me I'm very wrong but I think it's not possible to ctb on benzodiazepines alone, it would have to be in a specific combination with something else - or you'd need an existing medical problem. Also you'd need a vast number. Check with resident @gingerplum

They are only any use in combos & for that info you have the whole site to read.

Oh and they are nothing like Barbs, Benzos were invented as a safe alternative to barbs. Sorry

A benzo overdose alone is rarely fatal. Knocking them back with vodka may work. The likelihood of success would increase if you create an "overdose triangle" by adding a third sedative with a different mechanism of action such as:
Opioids
GHB/GBL
Z-drugs (eg. Zopiclone)

Maybe if you go swimming after talking a bunch of benzos, you have a chance to drown.
The drawback it is possible to wake up when you breath in some water.
Probably not a good idea.

It is definitely possible. My brother took a whole bottle of my mom's Xanax once, along with a bottle of vodka, and if we wouldn't have come home when we did, he would have died.

This is what dr. Google told me: clinical studies in rats, the LD50 — the dose that caused half of the rats to die — ranged from 331 to 2,171 mg per kilogram of body weight. This suggests that a person would have to take several thousand times the maximum prescribed dose to fatally overdose.

In medichal scholl a psychiatry told us that the if you take say 200cps of valium and drink all the booze you can to CTB you will most likelly wake 3 days later with a headeache. Suicide by modern pills is bull propagated by lazy screenrighting in movies and series. Oh, it hapenned all the time in the beggining of the 20th century but those were barbiturates. When they discovered benzodiazepines, the took the barbiturates out of market exactly because of the very small chance of OD on benzos.

There is almost no possibility to CTB on Benzo's alone. They are considered very safe. If you Google it by body weight it would take 10's of thousands of 0.5mg Xanax tablets (for example) which you couldn't even consume. Benzo's have replaced barbiturates because they are considered very safe. Most prescription drugs are hard to CTB with today.
