I live in a country where obtaining a gun is nearly impossible if you are a common citizen, so I chose ctb at the shooting range as my ideal way to go. I plan on renting the strongest gun possible and shoot myself in the head. There are, however, some cons to this...
First - how do you think, what are the odds of succesfully finishing myself? I'll get only maybe a second to aim and shoot, considering the instructor breathing down my neck the entire time.
Second, I don't want to get any third parties involved, though it's inevitable in this case.
What do you think about this method?

Seen a few videos of it online it's definitely doable but you have to be determined

I went to a shooting range to practice with my handgun to feel more comfortable with it. While talking with the rangemaster about my job (which involves deceased people), this person related an incident where a person did just that. It was traumatizing for the staff and the other patrons. They are all trained in first aid and will have equipment and supplies available, and will immediately call for an ambulance. If your attempt is not immediately successful, then your chances of being saved might be pretty good. Also, if you aren't familiar and comfortable with a high-powered weapon, your chances of flinching and missing completely or sustaining a grazing wound are also fairly high.
So, while it may work, there are a lot of factors as to why it may not. Please consider carefully.

Thanks for your input. As I said, it's far from ideal, and I certainly don't want to traumatize anyone, but gun method seems to me to be the most reliable. I just wish I had my own gun/shotgun to aim precisely and die in peace far from people.

I would worry about missing since you're in a rush and also the risk of injuring someone else with the same bullet flying through your head.

Tbh, I don't worry too much about stray bullet, but missing (and its consequences) is a real threat. I have to practice quick aiming and reflex.

Even if you don't miss, with so many people around there's a reasonable chance you'll be saved (depending where you're aiming for) and end up a vegetable. It's also pretty irresponsible dragging other people into your suicide.

Since you can't get your own gun, why not do N, SN or an exit bag?

Any method involving inhaling something and/or suffocating is out of question. I dont know what are the chances of sending N to the place where I live, besides I can't even afford it.
Dragging anyone into my one-man farewell party is traumatizing and irresponsible, I really wish I could avoid that.

As far as I'm aware, breathing pure nitrogen or helium (via an exit bag) feels no different to breathing air.

I have the unexplainable fear of inhaling something other than air, it wouldn't be the peaceful method for me.

How about drinking N?

I can't afford it and Im not sure if it could pass the customs in my country. I dont exclude this method, however. But right now Im fixed on gun at shooting range.

How about sn? Its not regulated and much easier on the wallet. It does require a bit more planning and while I can not convince you out of your actions, I can only share my knowledge and experience. Or do you not want to drink anything and you want it to be fast?

Yep, I consider it too. I was thinking also about xanax+alcohol combo (easy to get and cheap), but Im sure I would panic right after ingesting it. Would sn be quicker?

For sn, 12 hours is the absolute max, but that is extreme cases. Most succumb much sooner. I would guess minutes to unconsciousness and hours or less to death. But there's not much data on this forum as to the time and reliability. With reliability, its simple chemistry. Its going to work if taken in the right amount. For an average human weight, 20g should do it. Just make sure you have metoclopramide. You can get it from ebay. You could also use dmso and sn. You can ctb with that combo without the need for anti-e.

Time from ingesting to uncounsciousness is the most important factor, because I want to do it once and for all, no chickening out after ingesting. Thats why gun is my method of choice, after overcoming the survival instict there's no turning back.

I have a reliable and easy to use gun. I even replaced the trigger with a trigger that requires much less pull. I put it to my head and depressed the trigger almost fully. My main worry is hitting the right spot on my brain. I'm a good shot, but that uncertainty and the want to experience death made me realize that using a gun isn't for me. A gun might be the best option for you, I'm just sharing my thoughts, experiences and conclusions on the matter. I also seem to be able to get past my SI with drinking something as opposed to using a gun.

What do you think about this method?

Before I learned about some of the methods discussed elsewhere and here, I also considered this method. I wasn't sure I could get a gun without a lot of hassle even though I live in the US (I've been committed before & I think this would show up on a background check). But as you've already said, there isn't a lot of time to position the gun correctly if you have to do it at a range. The slightest hesitation attracts attention... And I've seen (online photos) and read about way too many botched attempts with guns even under better circumstances (privacy, time to prepare...). Even though relative to other methods (like many drug overdose attempts...) shootings have higher success odds, the mechanics lead to surprising failure rates. Worse, victims can then be left in great suffering to face the complex and painful prospect of multiple surgeries followed up by forced psychiatric interventions or worse.

I'm not trying to scare you. But please consider some other methods you can control better. Really sorry you're in a place to be considering this. Glad to listen if you ever want to talk.

There's a Reddit thread about this. The gun range owner had to pay for the bio hazard cleaning and it was $4500. Don't do this to someone, find another method.

Ah fuck that, let the insurance company worry about it. And the cleanup too! They had rebuilt Dresden, and Berlin, and Nagasaki, its not our business.

For the OP: Your willpower is the main factor. Do some scouting at the range, look out how do they handle different situations. With a newcomer, do they stay close and watch your every move? How many staff are in the vicinity? Is there a doctor around? How quickly they can leap forward and overwhelm you? Practice at home with a toy gun, all the movements. It has to be sudden and quick.

While at the range, scouting, you would need to show some acting. Try to look as normal as possible, relaxed and trigger-happy. I think they're trained to spot problematic people.

Thanks for all advice. I was thinking about going there several times before, checking grounds and all that you mentioned. I doubt I could do it my very first time there, especially that, as someone said earlier, any hesitation attracts attention.

I think people underestimate the great courage it takes to actually pull that trigger. I don't think you could do it all right in that split second.

Probably not for the first time at the gun range, thats why I consider scouting a bit, make the instructors familiar with my presence, make them relax their guard.

That's not something you do in a week. You can prepare aiming though, you have to remember the place of the brainstem in your head. If you hit that, it's fatal.
