I got offered a part-time job at the software company I completed my internship at! I hate the CEO but I like or tolerate everyone else.

My suicidality is tied to my CFS and NEETdom. Professional and social success are an important part of my recovery. Let's see how this goes. I still feel ill everyday but programming gives me a distraction that people are willing to pay for, so I will work within my capacity.

Oh yes, there will be something much worse than COVID happening in this decade, we are living in borrowed time, and not in the regular sense of all life being doomed to decay and death but in the sense of proper collapse happening in a few years IMO. I'm just filling my time with what seems best. I kinda prepared our garden for some survivability but I dunno how we would fare if even the water supply was out. I guess that level of collapse might not be in the cards.

It's great you got the job. It doesn't sound like it will make your situation any worse and it could improve things for you. I think structure and purpose can help.

There is no long-term for anyone really.

If only you could've done it before the apocalypse, then you could've enjoyed the new job a bit longer. I hope it works out for you Whatevs.

Yep. I'm just passing time until I can partake in a violent uprising or die in the collapse after laughing at the sleeping masses suddenly waking up to the nightmare some of us have been aware of for years.

Congratulations to your new job!

Regarding the prospect of an apocalypse, I fully agree. However, if one decides not to try improve one's life, the only guarantee is that their life won't get better, and then any kind of apocalypse won't matter much, since the person's life circumstances may be even worse for the person in question.

In short, prepare for the worst, but try to live life as if it will turn out fine. Otherwise, when one turns 80 years old, they may regret that they didn't do anything with their life, just because they were awaiting the apocalypese.

All the best with the new job. Give it all the focus you can.

decay and death but in the sense of proper collapse happening in a few years IMO.
I have no opinion on such matters, but just for fun, here is an excerpt from Jehovah's Witness predictions of the past century.

  • 1938: Armageddon was too close for marriage or child bearing.[36]
  • 1941: There were only "months" remaining until Armageddon.[37]
  • 1942: Armageddon was "immediately before us".[38]
  • 1966: It would be 6000 years since man's creation in the fall of 1975 and it would be "appropriate" for Christ's thousand-year reign to begin at that time.[40] Time was "running out, no question about that".[41] The "immediate future" was "certain to be filled with climactic events ... within a few years at most", the final parts of Bible prophecy relating to the "last days" would undergo fulfillment as Christ's reign began.
  • 1968: No one could say "with certainty" that the battle of Armageddon would begin in 1975, but time was "running out rapidly" with "earthshaking events" soon to take place.[43] In March 1968 there was a "short period of time left", with "only about ninety months left before 6000 years of man's existence on earth is completed".[44]
  • 1969: The existing world order would not last long enough for young people to grow old; the world system would end "in a few years". Young Witnesses were told not to bother pursuing tertiary education for this reason.[45]
  • 1974: There was just a "short time remaining before the wicked world's end" and Witnesses were commended for selling their homes and property to "finish out the rest of their days in this old system in the pioneer service".[47]

So this means the Jehovah Witnesses are even less credible than what I thought, and still have millions of followers. Another proof that the masses are emotional, not rational.

Good luck, even if apocalypse doesn't comes, a huge crisis is in the horizon

Y acá en españa no nos vamos a librar. Que hayas encontrado un trabajo está genial. Ser un NINI es una de las razones por la que estoy aquí y entiendo perfectamente que es una mierda. A ver si te dura.

I'm happy for you! That's the best feeling. Yea, it's weird carving out a path for recovery in the face of it all. I actually find it oddly comforting.

So purposes…everyone talks about it. I feel no connection, no purpose…and often wonder why laws allow the sick to do AS but if you have any form of mental illness history. Wohoa cowboys. Sorry you are not allowed to die. Because big pharmacy will lose money. No body gives a crap….at least Canada gives the choice to all, but you have to be a citizen. Maybe dual citizenship is an option. So tired, so hopeless…and it is getting worse not better. Feel invisible.
