Where can we find the courage to do it and not look back? Anyone?

Courage is the hardest part to find, specially when unmotivated. But the best way to find it is by feeling you have nothing to lose.

I just think that courage is that you think about death and how it's going to be better dead than alive if you see what I mean

I feel as if the desire to live is deeply hardwired. Even when things are so terrible that you feel as if life will never improve, it still takes that one last motivational event to push you........and then that push may not be enough. I'm hopelessly hopeful if that makes any sense.

Hey, if you don't want to die, its your choice. If your life isn't that bad, you shouldn't off yourself and wait.

I am struggling about this too. It seems like the act of ctb requires breaking through multiple layers of "terror barrier". This is certainly true for methods that required many step-by-step tasks. I wish ctb can be as easy as flicking a switch.

I guess for me the courage will come when I face something bad that will make me to do it. So I am still waiting for it.

It's best not to over-analyze it, but just to wait until you have that instinctive gut feeling that it's the right moment and keep everything needed on hand in the mean time.

Every bit of me wants death actually. Thank you.

I'm over it too. Courage to complete suicide is what I need. There is a small window of time where I have the opportunity once a week. I need to follow through. Thank you.

Good question. It's probably the most difficult thing in life. You're basically trying to turn off your most basic survival instinct. And I tell you that, it's a beast.

I just try to ride on dissociative hazes tbh, it's much easier when you can convince yourself that none of this is really happening, or that you're not really doing something that's harmful to yourself

That said, I can't directly control when those happen, and I'm still here. Just with a few unnoticed attempts of damage on me. Dissociation got me 4 or so days into an attempt that would've taken me at least 7 to cause total organ failure, then I just stopped.

Hope you can find some trick to it

Have you tried other techniques like accupuncture or even CBT,? basically stuff other than meds that help to change the neural "grooves"? there a very interesting book on neurological pain a teacher of mine wrote, I could try and find the title and PDF for you?

I don't know if this is any helpful. But from my experience, and I realized that when I was in the hotel last week, sleep deprivation helps - at least for me. When I realized that my plan wouldn't work anymore after I checked into the hotel and I had to delay it, I felt so guilty and terrible that I didn't sleep at all that night. And I was so tired and devastated, it made me really thirsty for N. Probably because in that moment, an endless and comfy sleep seemed very welcoming to me. And maybe this applies only to the people who have N but I think I'll go for some sleep deprivation.

I find that having a plan to ctb makes life more bearable. At least you can get out if it gets too much.
