Here everyone!
New here!

I'm currently trying to find some ways to end my life in a peaceful manner and get rid of my pain(both physical and psychological).
I have severe myopia with astigmatism and it looks like I'll be developing diabetic retinopathy soon.
I was recently diagnosed as type 2 diabetic but I'm managing the disease well so far.
Unfortunately, all the doctors/surgeons I went to, told me that there is nothing they can do for my low vision and it will get worse over time.
I wear glasses and I find it difficult to do basic tasks even with them on.
As you can imagine living a normal life is extremely difficult and I'd rather end it peacefully.

I'm trying to read and understand the best methods to end my life and I've come across two methods that I found interesting:
1) I'm interested in Canada's medical assistance in dying (MAID) and upon reading their eligibility criteria, I'm more confused than before.
In other words, I not sure if I'm qualified or not based on my disability. From my understanding, I think I'm not qualified since my disability is not at a point where my natural death has become reasonably foreseeable. However, my disability cannot be relieved with any satisfactory means. Some clarification on this would be greatly appreciated. Any fellow Canadians here who can shed some light?

2) I'm considering the Night night method found in this forum. I find this method very interesting and not as painful as other methods. I like the fact that I can acquire the items needed without any legal problems. However, the endless loop ratchets I found here in Canada, are not that wide to cover my neck(I have a tall neck). Would you be able to recommend a ratchet that it'll do the job?
I prefer to buy one at a physical store rather than online if possible.
Lastly, does this method actually work?

Clarification would be greatly appreciated!

On Nite Nite, it appears the original poster (Kooz) had said he was going to do it, and was never back. I assumed it worked? I think he said he learned it in the military.

Gorilla tape can be used instead of tree ratchets, but the ratchets Kooz linked to (on amazon) were thin. The beanbags will be the thick part that covers your neck.

Thank you!
I've been following the thread started by Kooz on the night night method for some time now and I understand how it works(but I can't wait to try it myself). Almost all of the endless ratchets I saw online and in person were thin about 2cm or 1inch US. So in this case I think it's safe to buy the thin ones, eh?

Now I have to find corn-whole/bean bags but most of them are too expensive. I have to find a physical store that sells them because the people I live with have the habit of opening Amazon/Ebay packages that don't belong to them. If all else fails, I'll use pop/soda caps with socks as someone suggested it in the night night thread.

I wanted to ask few more things(I hope it's ok).

I'm planning to die either in a hotel room or forested/hiking area. Which one do you think it's wise?
Also, I don't know what will the authorities do with my corpse after I'm gone.
I'd like to donate some of my body parts(kidneys) to a loved one after my death. Would this be possible legally? Can I write a will stating this?

If you have any sewing ability, you can just get beans or rice and sew up a cut up t-shirt into the size that would be best.

The thin ones should be good, since that's what Kooz linked to.

Personally, I would pick a hotel room rather than outside, but it'd be for the sake of those who would find the body. It could be a kid, or people just trying to seek out a tiny bit of happiness, and there's the possibility animals could have already gotten to you.

If you want someone to have your kidney, you should really give it prior to doing this. Operations are tricky and organs go bad fast.

In the US, what they will do with your body in the US is if no one claims it (assuming you have no family/friends) it will be stored. Sometimes at a college. After a while, they'll bury small groups of unclaimed bodies in unmarked graves in a cheap, handmade wooden casket. Once upon a time I had a friend who worked in a funeral home and when visiting saw this done. If someone claims your body, they're going to be shelling out a few thousand dollars minimum.

You may want to write out a will, since it sounds like you have people you care about and will likely miss you enough to put up a funeral. There are free templates for it online, and you'll need a witness and... well for this part do some google searches. You'll also want a living will (in case) and possibly an advance directive just in case. This method seems full proof from my perspective, but I know of someone who hung himself and lived for two weeks afterward. His family kept him alive even though he was braindead.

Another thing to consider is writing out each automatic payment you have, so those left behind don't have to guess. Things that need to be canceled like Netflix (and your password), Amazon Prime, Cable (and your info), your phone (and the info to shut it off), etc. Also delete your email content so no one will be embarrassed at personal notes being made public and leave a note with that password, etc. Make sure you've unsubscribed here so it doesn't get shut down.

It's a lot to do, but if you have people who care about you, it's worth it. Someone you love dying means having to visit funeral homes and picking out caskets and worrying about money, and finding a place to bury them, and figuring out what to do with their stuff, and keeping places from continuing with the bills (gas, electric, subscriptions, and so on). Canceling credit cards, writing an obituary, paying for that... everything.

Thank you for the helpful reply!
I'd like to cancel all my subscriptions in advance, but I'm afraid if my attempt is unsuccessful. I guess I might cancel my credit cards and pause my subscriptions a little bit before my attempt. Or I might give them a months notice to avoid any extra charges.

I was wondering if I can leave my savings to my family after my death?
I'd like to leave some money for my parents and my wife after my death, but I'm not sure how the process works.
My wife and I have separate accounts but we know each others passwords. I'm mostly worried for my parents because they live far away from me and they're elderly. I wanted them to have most of my money.
If i write a will and die, will they be able to get that money? If I'm not mistaken, the Canadian government will get a hold of my savings and keep them. But I'm not sure how the process works.

Same here!
I cannot legally acquire chemicals, gasses, N and other things that might raise suspicion, so this method is pretty much the best option for me.

I think I might try soda caps in socks filled with rice if I'm not able to find cornhole bags.
