When people talk about ways they cope with their issues, it's usually focused on the perspective of those coping with trauma

The victims will cope through various ways. This can be sex, drugs, and relationships. It can be sleep, work, food, etc. Ways to cope with the trauma they faced as a form of avoidance

But another coping mechanism that isn't focused on is what abusers and narcisssits use. Abuse

Abusers and narcissists thrive when they have a victim/victims they get their narcissistic supply from. They seem happy on the outside and like everything is fine. But it's likely because they are coping through dominating someone. Their own child, spouse, friend, etc

Take their victim away, and you see how fast they spiral

People are so quick to shame victims for how they choose to cope. But ignore the blind eye to how narcissists cope, which is through harming others

Their coping mechanism is rooted in the destruction of those around them. And to cope with inner pain in such a way is sick

The narcissist is trapped in their own desire for power. The believe that by harming those "responsible" for their misery, that they will be happy. But the narcissist doesnt realize that, even if everything around them worked the way they wanted, they still wouldnt be satisfied. They'd still be empty, searching something to fill the void inside of them

You're right, this doesn't seem to be talked about much or almost at all.

Yes, narcissism is complicated, and the issue would be how to help the victim
I have seen cases like this with a couple from whom it could be said that I am a friend of both, a narcissist and his victim, but even if things are said to the victim, he simply cannot detach himself so easily because he has become dependent on the narsicist
good topic, greetings
