I don't currently but I have done in the past and I work in healthcare, you could be severely dehydrated. Drink plenty and if you've not dropped a log in a week and are taking laxative I would say phone 111 or go to your doctor. Also, unfortunately the way constipation works (similar to rash flare ups) is that the more stressed and anxious you are it will make it worse.

Drink shitloads of water is the main starting point then type of laxative isni portant one like laxido can be taken daily to keep you regular but something like bisacodyl will make your body relax down there and pass more fluid into the bowel, that gives a more exploring and less comfortable feeling but gets the first movement out the way then just water slot and maybe a laxido every day or couple days whatever you find keeps you going about once a day. Hope makes sense. I been on opiates for ages so quite experienced with constipation lol

If it's functional because of medication there are several options to try. They may or not work if you are impacted depending where the impaction is.
For instant relief, glycerin suppositories can be bought OTC. They are for acute use and will stimulate defecation within ten to twenty minutes but only if your rectum is full. Otherwise they'll pass with wind and be no help. Stimulant suppositories are also available. They are less gentle but may be more effective.
Stimulant laxatives like bisocdyl or senna will work in six to eight hours and possibly give bowel cramps and reduce your stool to a black mush. It's not nice. They may also not work at all if you have become tolerant to them although that takes some time.
PEG/movicol/laxido can be used under prescription at a low dose for chronic benefit. It draws water into the colon and smooths transition. You can take a higher dose for acute constipation to shift an impaction. Expect the world to drop out of your bottom in liquid form the next day.
There is is also fibre based products which act as a bulking agent but I suspect that's not what you need for medication based functional constipation.
Lots of water is important because you'll get the squits if it works. If you can get a maintenence dose of movicol from your doc afterwards it's also important to stay hydrated. Long term exercise, diet and water do help but it's an uphill battle with medication related constipation which often needs long term laxitives like movicol.
I suffer from functional constipation and defecation disorder. I've been for two weeks before with no BM. I know that pain.
It really is a pain in the arse.
If you need to ask any questions feel free. PM if it's too yeuky for open forums as I can understand that.

For impaction I think laxido does goes from the 1 a day up to take 6-8 doses. I had to do it that way k ce when I had any terrible issue when my entire large colon swelled up totally so I literally had no butthole it had swollen shut. Couldn't even get the suppositories up there as it was a pin hole and the press of everything wanting to come out was not good. I honestly thought I had a collapsed rectum or whatever its called. That last for 2 weeks and I was on 4 different laxatives a day all prescribed including softener, creams glycerin. It was about 3 weeks of hell. And never found out what caused it it just got btter but that's was years ago and I'm stillmparanoid everyone I take a seat on the throne.

Yeah... 400mg of Magnesium Citrate on empty stomach in the morning helped me a bit . Lactulose hasn't done nothing for me unfortunately.

the two best diets for my digestion, oddly enough, were keto and vegan. since I can remember I only had to go no2 every two or three days. when I was vegan I suddenly could go two or three times a day, it was perfect. might have to do something with fiber since I also ate a lot of vegetables on the keto thing. but vegan was the best.

have you tried flax seeds or eating a lot of oatmeal? don't know where you're from but fine cut, raw oatmeal is pretty good for my digestive tract; i.e. muesli

There are varying strengths and types of laxatives. If you've been a week with no movement at all, then I'd suggest something pretty strong. Then once you're cleared out, I'd suggest asking your doctor if it's OK for you to start taking stool softeners regularly.

And as others have said, lots of water. If you're not measuring your water intake by the litre, then you're not drinking enough (I'd shoot for 3-4 litres per day). Water itself does not cure constipation, but it helps prevent it and is needed if you're taking extra fibre or pills/meds.

i feel like I've had chronic constipation my whole life lol. Senna always works for me and I usually only need one pill. It can give cramps though but always works. I also take slippery elm which also helps but not as potent as senna.

I use flax seeds/linseeds as an adjunct to my diet. Plus lots of leafy veg, water and sometimes a probiotic. It all acts in combination to make well formed stool.
Chia seeds can be helpful too, they act as a bulking agent because they swell to many times their size when encountering water.
This can be useful if you suffer from functional constipation, but if you have an impaction from prolonged constipation for many days or weeks I wouldn't use a bulking agent as it could be dangerous.

Bustello or Pilon strong, hotsauce, Whiskey.
Also what worked for me most recently was going on a shake diet for 2 weeks, not the weight gain stuff. You do have to account for protien and vitamins.
But after the two weeks i was down nearly 30 pounds, most of which was "movement" and not actual weight loss.
It can be a bit gross at times FYI
