What put me off is the fact that there seem to me to be a lot of variables which could lead to failure. From what I can gather it seems to be important getting the right tent, burning the charcoal for the right amount of time to avoid smoke causing coughing, ensuring your setup doesn't burn your tent etc. I say tent - but naturally there are other ways you could do it, like with a car or other small space. I don't drive and don't live alone, so a tent seemed the logical option for me if I were to use this method

Below is a link to a useful thread from a member who failed using this method, which you might be able to learn some things from. I'm not saying don't do this method. I actually somewhat like the idea of CO poisoning because I think it's pretty safe in terms of avoiding long lasting effects as long as you are not found. But since I ordered SN with relative ease I just didn't see a point in CO since I'm a little uneasy about the execution of it. But if you think you can find a way to make it work then kudos to you!

https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/i-failed-with-co-method-last-night.25448/

There are a few threads on here by people who have tried this method and failed. I think I've read just about every CO related thread on here and it isn't always clear why they failed. Some users have went into their space while their charcoal was still emitting flames and smoke, others hadn't bothered to seal their area at all. I read one post where a user sent a message to their partner and they found the user unconscious in their car and was taken to hospital. The only user I'm aware of who successfully ctb is zanexx, I'd be interested to know if any others who ctb this way, although there are several news reports outside of SS regarding disposable BBQ / charcoal deaths.

BBQ1 (I think was the user name) did it in a tent. It's here somewhere.

I've read so many stories of how people have died from CO, and many in their sleep from leaving a generator on all night in the house.

If you could be sure it would definitely work I think it's one of the better methods. Very fast unconscious and that's it, no pain, no suffering. Whereas with SN who knows how it's going to be.

The lockdown makes it even harder to do CO in a tent, plus the time of year.

If you have a garden, you can pitch a tent there.

Some things you should know:
Even when most of the smoke has gone, when you bring the coals inside there will still be quite a bit of smoke and it will get very hot.
Make sure you drug yourself enough to get knocked out, you really don't want to stay awake or wake up in the middle because you will probably vacate the room/car/tent (good old survival instinct)

I'd say it's easier.. not many people out. I tried this method a week ago, didn't go unconscious and I drank too much so I left the tent to throw up then ended up passing out on the ground
