So My doctor changed me from Xanax to clonazepam. Can't say it's helping much. It's a very low dose, 0, 5. I i still feel anxious, and it doesn't give me the relaxation feeling of Alprazolam. Anyone on these meds that can give me some feedback? Cause the doctor is in the office tomorrow and I could. Call him. Thank you I'm advance.

How much xanax were you on? 0.5mg might be a reduction for you, which would make a fair bit more tense.

I was on 1mg 3 times a day. But it used to feel it calming me down, clonazepam doesn't do anything even I take 2.

i use Lorazepam, 2.5 mg, in combination with 175 mg amitriptyline, both for sleep. No anxiety since starting taking Lorazepam.

If you jump from short acting benzos to long acting ones, you will notice the difference. Switch to bromazepam first, 6mg is the usual with benzo tolerance, and see what it does.

I used to take clonazepam but it made me way too sleepy during the day time and I kinda lost my taste sense.
Since I OD with it, I haven't tried it anymore.
I wish quetiapine could help you as much as it's helping me but I guess each person needs something different, dear.

That sounds like a big reduction to me. From what I understand, clonazepam and alpra are pretty much equivalent in regards to dosage. Alpra just kicks in harder and doesn't last as long. My experience with psychs is that they usually don't even know the proper equivalencies. There are plenty of sites that convert benzo dosages, I would print it out and take it to your doctor. It sounds like your doctor wants you on a longer acting benzo which is understandable, but 0.5mg of clonazepam isn't much at all, I need 1mg to even feel anything.
