I just read a sad departure note from one of our community. I hope he finds peace.

As some of you know, I want to make my departure look accidental so I know that I should reinstall my operating system on my laptop and factory reset my iphone and ipad. But I have a new question. In his post he noted that he had "Removed google history activity on my google account."

I didn't realize that was possible. Can any of you educate me on this? What does it mean, exactly, that I have a google search history? And is it actually possible to remove it? If so, how does one do that?

thanks

Yes all your searches, videos you've watched on youtube, gmail, etc are saved on google's servers. You can request them to remove that by following this link: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en#infodelete or you could also check out this thread that has some more info about deleting your data:https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/hiding-internet-history.7232/.

Hey again, I just followed that link "policies.google.om..." and instead of finding all kinds of search history I got this screen. How could that be, do you know? It does say "Some activity may not appear yet." but I've been searching on Chrome signed into to my Google account in my current country for nearly four months. Does it seem plausible that Google has actually no record of my activity?

Good luck with it either way.

thanks

Not to criticize your plan, but don't you think the fact that you are hiding everything on your google make you seem even more suspicious? I would also delete everything, but I am telling my family directly that I will ctb and they will know. I just don't want people knowing about this site.

Maybe your created this account recently or disabled history so things won't get saved. This link should take you directly to a page where you can delete your data: https://myaccount.google.com/preferences?utm_source=pp&hl=en#deleteservices.
thanks man. It is a newish account. It's related to my work, which I started about 4 months ago. I can't delete the account yet because it's the server for my university's email system. But I'll remember to do so should I choose to depart. thanks for taking the time!

I just had that very thought! But I face a dilemma. I desperately want to hide my suicide from my 10-year old daughter to save her the additional pain and suffering and possible long term psychological harm that my cause. So it must look accidental. I'm leaning toward SWB but though I'm now 53 and a little overweight I'm known as a strong swimmer (scuba diver, etc.). So there might be some questions raised by those who knew me but I live in a S.E. Asian country that probably won't waste 5 minutes on me should they find me dead in the apartment complex pool. I assume my effects would be given to my elderly parents and they probably wouldn't know what to do with this stuff or even realize it's been cleaned up. But yes, I think you're right to raise that issue.

Sorry, what does SWB stand for?
There isn't any way for you to die a little bit later, right? I myself don't know any method to make it look accidental, except something like drowning. But even proficient swimmers can drown. I don't know what would be harder for her-growing up without a dad or having yourself die a bit later and having to deal with your suicide.
Do they do autopsies in the country where you live?
What a dilemma for sure :/ I can totally understand you, I myself want to ctb (no kids) and don't know if I should have any. But I always hoped to get pregnant and then die later, when the child is grown up.
I wish you the best of luck either way. I am sure she will understand one day when she is older.
Does she have a stepdad? Maybe that could help her.

thanks for your concern Hunter_Lewis. Sorry, lots of lingo and acronyms on this site that I've had to learn. SWB stands for Shallow Water Blackout. There's loads of commentary here about this method. It's basically drowning but only after you enable yourself to blackout first - thus avoiding the pain and misery of traditional drowning. It would very likely look accidental. And this is why I am considering it (as well as suicide while scuba diving, but I can't seem to figure out a way to make that less traumatic (drowning generally seems a pretty shitty way to die) or to ensure no one else gets hurt, such as the usually mandatory dive buddy who seeing me in trouble might take risks in saving me. They do autopsies here but not as strictly as say back in the States. She does not have a stepfather, the family only broke up three years ago. So my thoughts are to make it look accidental so though she will certainly grieve for the loss of her father, who, despite my many faults she still seems to love. But an accident wouldn't burden her with the additional trauma of knowing that I chose to die. I'm sure that would create distinct and quite significant psychological traumas for her. Thanks again for your expressions of concern. They mean a lot
