First of all, I'd like to apologize for accidentally offending anyone, I'm super tired rn so I may be blunt.

As I've started preparing for my second attempt, I've been looking at various beliefs in the afterlife. I've come to notice that most of them seem to stem from a person saying something is true in the past and then it just kind of grows from there. The ones I researched about as well seemed to be well, unprovable, even containing historical inaccuracies. I came to the conclusion that the most likely outcome is simply, non-existence. I've seen no evidence for a soul or any deity that doesn't rely on personal experience (which is subject to cultural influence) and even these experiences sometime contradict one another. And yet, I kinda find myself thinking "what if?" I think it may be a result of a religious upbringing. And all that made me wonder if all the mystery about death and consciousness is made more complicated that it needs to be. What if it's all truly simple, but we think it has to be more, so we make it more. Like how we thought the sun must have been unique because WE thought it was, and ofc we later learned the sun is one of many. Most scientific evidence points to the idea that consciousness is contained in the brain and that the brain dies after death(shocker lol). And while not every question, like the origin of consciousness, has an answer as yet this information should be sufficient enough to determine (well guess) what happens after death. Yet, I still ask "what if?" It's strange, almost like an instinct. I've decided to take advantage of this question in my own way though. I'm going to make up my own theory about what happens after death, for comfort, nothing else. I've already thought maybe it should be something like Subaru's power from re zero, but that may be more horrifying than cool. His checkpoints are always inconvenient and can't be changed by him. Hm, I guess I wouldn't mind if I could choose and at least remembered everything well enough to try again. Life would still suck but at least I can minmax it.

Yeah there isn't a huge point to this post, I'm just running ideas off my head, but this is a fun one.

It would be so dreadful to be reborn only to be brought back to my horrible torturous existence.

Reincarnation would only be a blessing if it brought me relief- instead of bringing me back to my suffering.

I've always had this odd belief that we pick our OWN afterlife. Be that reincarnation, reuniting with our loved ones, disappearing into oblivion, whatever the case may be. Personally, I also hope for the void of non-existence. In whichever scenario, I hope you find peace.
