Chewing Meto Still Effective?

Ever since I was a child I have never been able to swallow a pill. However the method I want to use suggests that I take Meto. Will chewing it still affect me the same as swallowing it or will it just completely diminish the effect of the pill?

It is just as effective and with some medicine it will make it kick in quicker. No problem.
