• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Hello everybody! Im new here (first post actually). I have a couple of questions about the charcoal suicide method.

1) Is charcoal the only substance that I can use for this method?

2) How much time does it take to die from it?

3) Is it extremely painful?

4) How can I prevent someone else dying from it when they find me?

Thank you and have a good day.

I suggest you check out the carbon monoxide hanging megathread. It's a long thread with a lot of information for various CO methods, but all of your questions are answered there. You can find the link on the Resources Compilation, or use the search for the thread title.

As I understand it, charcoal works best because of its carbon content, and possibly also because of how it burns. The amount of time depends on the size of the space you're working with, so I can't give a definite answer. You will feel light headed, possibly nauseous, dizzy, you might even get a headache. Leave a sign or some means of warning the first responders that the area is filled with carbon monoxide, that would be my first recommendation. That said, make sure this is what you want, and take care, you can't control what happens after you expire.
