Help Charcoal Burning am i doing it right ?

Yesterday i did a trial run with about 1.1kg of lump charcoal in a 280 sq feet room with carbon monoxide meter from china that goes up till 1000ppm

i am attaching the handwritten log as picture



in the guides its written that one should take burning charcoal inside the room after it stops flaming , my charcoal was flaming+glowing for the entire 1 hour . i set the charcoal on fire from inside as if i go outside at night and set fire charcoal outside :- i would have attention of neighbours


it took 1.30 hrs for the carbon monxide meter to reach 1000 ppm , if i am to reach 10000 PPM in 1.30 hr , I will have to burn 10kg of charcoal all at once ? the charcoal was smoking my eyes were burning

You are actually not supposed to take it into your enclosed space until the smoking stops -- because it is very hard to make yourself stay in the smoke.

If you have to do all of this indoors, then use a larger room to light it and then periodically check on it without actuallly staying in that room with the smoke. Do not take it into your smaller enclosed area until the smoking has stopped.
