Has anyone tried this method? What did you try it in? Also, explain the steps you took such as how long did you wait to bring the coals inside. Did it get unbearably hot inside as well?

I'm also interested in this method however it just doesn't seem as popular on this website as other methods particularly SN. I hope there are some responses.

I tried it. Took a charcoal grill into a small room. Long story short someone called 911 and police officer told me to tell him where I am just to see if I'm ok. I talked to him at front door, he almost left when suddenly I couldn't stand up. Terrible nausea and he called an ambulance. Doctor told me I almost died and so much CO in my blood. So this sounds like it was working and I plan to do it again.

How long were you in the room with the charcoal before the police officer came?

I honestly don't remember. It was quite a while back. Somewhere between 45 min-hour? But not really sure.. Couldn't be more than 2 hours though.

a small grill filled with charcoal will do the job. be in a small enclosed area with poor ventilation to make it quicker. i heated the coals outside until they were glowing red and ashy in color. In a few minutes i definitely felt early symptoms of CO poisoning.

Did you feel dizzy or did your body panic for fresh air. You said you felt sick. Is the charcoal method painful and is it easy? I want nembutal because its quick and painless but I'm afraid to purchase because of the scamming and police. I'm trying to find other options.

What were your symptoms of co2 poisoning? Was you in a lot of pain or was the pain level something you can stand until death? Is the charcoal method a way of achieving death for someone that wants to die quick with little to no pain?

In order for a quick and painless death. I think the carbon monoxide has to reach at least 10,000ppm. I'm still learning, some people do in a very small area like a tent or in a closet. I'm looking into buying a portable generator but I don't know how to work one and don't know which one would help get high carbon monoxide levels.

For me it was nausea that hit suddenly.

Carb compliant generators will not work. They also have high level co shut off switches on them now.

OK so now I have first hand experience with the charcoal method. I am sooo pissed that I am still alive.

I made a post called "its time" if you want to go check the details. It was last Thursday.

Anyway my reason for failing is only because the room I was in was to big for the amount off coals. I used a 4kg bag. I thought it would be sufficient.

I did not feel sick or anything strange when or while I was passed out. I believe I passed out around 10am the morning, slightly dizzy. I had a whole bottle of wine while the coals were busy getting ready outside.

So then I woke up at around 5 or 6pm in the hospital or ambulance, can't really recall. So I slept the whole day... Can't wait for the next attempt as it was not painful at all like when I tried to hang myself, and it was peaceful.

I will do it in a small bathroom or toilet next time.

My only issue is attempting this without influencing other people around me, might just go in the shed but that's a lot of space to fill. This was my ideal method but it seems problematic for the people who may come to grab my body I don't want them harmed

What were the dimensions of the room you were in? What time did the ambulance pick you up? Do you have any residual effects?

Co is my method. Failed this year. Used generator.. I fell right asleep (had alcohol & sedative herbs to conquer si). Problem is I escaped the room in an unconscious state and came to on my kitchen floor... my doors didnt lock. I didn't know about "sleepealking si".. but unless I build an exit bag, C0 I think is the best way to go... If I had bolted my doors shut, it would have been the perfect dying in your sleep. Of course after psych ward and ptsd... I dont know why Im still here... ugh.. i hate that I failed. Got to try again

What generator did you use? Most new ones dont produce much co

Does it still smell like smoke when brought into the room? or does it not have any scent?

I did a test run night before last in my van (dimensions 13 feet long, 4 feet high, and around 5 feet wide) with 3 pails half full of charcoal just to see how quickly the ppm would get to lethal levels. I put around 35 pounds in 6 chimney starters which burned down maybe 35, 40 percent before they were ready (around an hour & 15 minutes). The CO level peaked in an hour and a half to 7525 ppm ( I used a meter ) but started dropping pretty quickly after that. I'm still not sure why. I've tested before and never had the CO level drop so fast. In 30 minutes it dropped to 7429. As for the temperature, it got hot as hell. The outside temperature was 64 F when I started and only went down a few degrees during the 2 hours I tested, and the temperature inside the van reached 100 degrees in 30 minutes and pretty much stayed there. I need to find the source of the leak and get that fixed, then go back to 1 or 2 pails. I'm not sure even doped up on benzos and alcohol if I could deal with that kind of heat.
