I am sorry to hear that. Is that some form of social anxiety? Have you went to a doctor or a psychologist?

At least you don't stare. I find myself mesmerised and wanting eye contact with strangers. Its highly awkwardmaybe shading out would take the pressure off.

a tip that helped me when i was young and super shy, is to look at the bridge of people's noses instead of their eyes. i gradually began to get better at making eye contact!

Isn't that normal. I mean if you don't know the person. I know you mean your self conscious about it though. I do it to.

I avoid eye contact when I can. I even avoid looking at people (who I've known for a long time) and stare right past them some times. It's low self-esteem for me though.. and I feel horrible for doing it, but I just can't look them in the eyes

I look deep into their eyes; pierce into their souls. Just not your ordinary eye contact. :hihi:

You can try propranolol. It helps people with public speaking, prolly will help you with your eye contact problem.

I can relate. Even I cannot look straight into people's eyes for too long. Mostly, I get distracted and lost whenever I talk to people. I just start staring into nothingness and people have to snap me back to reality.

I've noticed that with this social distancing, there is a lot less eye contact. In the grocery, it's as if not looking at someone creates a physical distance, which of course it does not. It's been interesting to see. I can't get out much at all but the few times I have, I have noticed.
