So I know that SN turns you blue and grey but I was wondering if a funeral home would put makeup on you and do a viewing anyway? Every funeral in my family has included a viewing and I don't really care whether or not they do but I was wondering if it's even an option in this case. A relative of mine who shot himself in the mouth even had a viewing because the bullet just went out the back of his head.

I would guess make-up would do it.

You can still have a viewing. You won't look blue at your funeral. The funeral director puts a ton of makeup on the deceased in order to make them look life like as possible. They do a very good job. No one will even know.

No idea. I saw a funeral of someone who died by SN and it was close casket.

Death makes you look blue too, I'd hope they can find a way if that's what you want.

Some people desire closed casket regardless of method of death for religious reasons, culture, tradition, etc.

Wouldn't most of the blue-ish hue disappear after exsanguination and embalming?????

Embalming freaks me out I want to decompose in nature. They have heavy make up paint?

They put a lot of make up. Plus the body has different stages after passing. Changes in color may happen. Depends if they put the person in the refrigerator. Anyway, they will make sure it looks good enough.

yes they most definitely can. The blue thing is a bit of a myth to be honest. you lose your color that sort of peachy complexion and go a sort of very very light grey.. even that changes to a very slight sort of ghostly look.. but different causes of deaths mean different discolouration.. heart attacks and strokes you go a really purple red.. same as asphyxiation.. old age you go a little yellowish.. and so on.. the is no reason at all why a good mortuary worker with the correct makeup could make a really good job on most deceased, excluding reconstruction work that is.
