Yes. David Foster Wallace. He was a tall big guy. I can't recall exactly how he hanged himself but it was full suspension and I think he attached the rope to his patio roof. He was found with his hands wrapped in ducktape.

I always liked this method but I am a very big guy 6'5"/230 and I just can't see me reasonably supporting that much weight on my neck and jaw without panicking and pulling myself loose. I don't think I'll ever figure this shit out.
