I'm on the spectrum so I get a lot of different hyper fixations every now and again. I've been suicidal for too long to keep track of now, but ever since I stumbled across this website I've been on it almost every day learning about all the methods people come up with and the glory of death. It's something I haven't been able to stop thinking about, and it's almost been something I've started to crave. Is it possible my obsession with suicide is just another one of my hyper fixations? Has this happened to anyone else?

yes i am in the same boat as you. my roommate and i have autism and when i found this site i was basically infodumping suicide methods to her and she goes "spencer... you developed a hyperfixation on suicide didn't you?"

pretty much anything can be a hyperfixation. if people can have a hyperfixation on serial killers surely we can on suicide.

I completely understand that! I always overshare about everything I'm interested in and it's been so hard to not start randomly info dumping about it to people in my life. I'm glad it's a shared experience, I totally agree with that.
