Would you be able to try convincing a 'happy' person to die like how a 'happy' person tries convincing a suicidal person to live?

Edit: Not pushing death towards people like pro-lifers do to suicidal people, but just wondering what answers there are.

I wouldn't. As I know how it feels all too well for the reasons you've stayed, on the other side of the coin. So no, I wouldn't, as I know what it's like hearing it the other way around and I wouldn't want to put that on someone.

Plus, it's preachy. Everyone these days on every aisle and issue, is pretty. It's darn annoying to me...

we are happy or suicidal due to our personal experiences; there will always be a lack of insight on both ends (just like class differences of the rich and poor)

ultimately if a person has gone without trauma or overwhelming unhappiness then i doubt they'll want death like we do (in the end, they're living a life they are satisfied with and we're just pathetically surviving and trying to end the cycle)

I personally wouldn't waste my time convincing.
Now I'm wondering if suicidal people dislike pro-lifers because they voice their opinion so loudly while people who are pro-choice are much more quiet... We don't push death on others, but pro lifers push life on us. Hm.

Good point.

I wish everyone happiness in life, to never have to feel this low, but also to respect our choice to die, for whatever reason, which isn't exactly respected!

The the OP was trying to point out how much pro lifers push their view onto others so do you feel like we could do the same. Not saying anyone I would.

Personally I keep it to myself apart from on here where I've spoken openly.

Inarirslly people can influence other people's decisions, if they have never really considered the option. Suicide is considered such a taboo in society that if then someone shows them the possibility and it's an easy option then I think more people would consider it.

But I'm not one to push views on anyone else and everyone should be able to make there own decisions!

Yes but it's highly wrong. There are cults that do this and they shouldn't exist. You'd have to be a psychopath to even consider that.

I am a believer in St.Thomas ....

Doubt is the salvation I suspect .

What fucks everything up is certainty of belief and point of view .

Even bloody objective beaker brained science is blinded by certainty ,

Circumspect considered analysis and deduction of almost everything would lead to
a better world for everyone .

Grey areas abound and are white washed or blacked out by fundamentalism of whatever persuasion .

Nationalism , cultural affiliation , race , gender ....

Prisons all .

In relation to OP's post ... it is the culturalized : " suicide as abomination" that fuels barbarity and
insensitivity and robotic 'no think', 'no feel ' ....."That which shall never be considered" .... fundamentally a lesser than optimum awareness .
Lesser than optimum , that is , if your ambitions eclipse a cell in the panopticon.

Everyones up for ending physical suffering at the end of life , but to socially entertain folk ending themselves because society , or the experience of life in society , is 'worse than non-existence' is
a bit too bitter for the flag wavers and 'in line marchers' to entertain ....

it's our fault for not loving that which demands to be loved.

Now LIKE this comment or your social credit will slide ..... :)

Wouldn't work anyway. Happy people are fairly set in their ways and why would I want to ruin someone else's happiness. People should be allowed to feel and think whatever they want if it helps them sleep at night and as long as it doesn't hurt other people in the process.

I don't think you could. They can't even understand why people would think about suicide.

I probably could yes but not intentionally. Would take a pretty sick person to want to do that

Probably not. Just like they wouldn't convince me that it worth living. The problem would be relatability. All of your points and stances would be countered every time instead of agreed upon.

there is a difference between trying to convince a suicidal person to live and a pro lifer to die. It's not the same
Best position is pro choice

Inteesting question, I think if you really tried then maybe. But why would you want to in the first place? I'd just leave them alone
