I genuinely looked through the megathread, one of the main reasons I'm wanting to CBT is because of my health conditions. I'm going blind, my liver is failing, I'm a heart attack risk, I have constant seizures and the medication side effects are miserable, and I can't live with the amount of abuse I've got in my entire life anymore. I struggle with learning disabilities as well and reading through the entire Mega thread was really difficult for me.

1) what kind of tent do I use? I have some extra funds right now To get whatever material I need.

2) I know nothing about charcoal, and I'm afraid of lighting it in a tent and starting a fire. I live in an area where there is a high fire danger often. Obviously, I would not want to cause a fire by doing this.

I'm desperate, I've been wanting to CTB for a long time, but now that my health is getting worse I have a full-blown neurological condition completely out of my control, my quality of life is excruciating, I'm now losing my house, I lost a child, and this world in this world is awful And I will likely lose my health insurance, with no chance of being able to even improve my quality of life at all andmy health will not get better. I'm not gonna fight anymore.

If anyone can give me very simple instructions for the tent and charcoal method like I'm five, Or show me to a thread that has a very easy breakdown, I'd appreciate it. My brain is so exhausted and I'm losing my vision so it's really hard to read.

1) basically any tent will do, you just have to seal it with gorilla tape or sth like that as best as possible. https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/leaving-tonight.3163/

2) lump charcoal is probably the best. You don't light it inside the tent rather outside and a chimney starter is very helpful. The coal is ready once it's glowing red and stopped burning/smoking. https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/charcoal-method-advice.94265/post-1655792

You also have to calculate the amount of charcoal needed for the volume of your tent. I would use 3-5 times that amount.

Sorry about your situation. The above thread is the only one i've read here where someone has been confirmed as succeeding with charcoal & tent method.

Zanexx failed the first attempt due to using a 2 layer tent, which allowed the CO to escape. They succeeeded by using a single layer pop up tent - the Malawi2. They sealed the 3 ventilation holes with canvas tape and bin bags, i think.

Whatever you do, do not light the charcoal inside the tent. Zanexx used Weber charcoal briquettes, lit them in a chimney starter outside the tent. They waited until the charcoal at the top of the chimney starter was burning, then tipped it all into a steel bucket. I'm not sure of the timing here. Someone in the thread said to give 40 - 60 mins burning, but that seems a long time to me. I think i've seen others say more like 10 - 20 mins is enough time in the chimney starter. You want the charcoal to all be burning, but not for so long that it starts disintergrating.

Once the burning charcoal is tipped into the bucket, Zanexx waited a further 90 mins for it to cool down before taking it into the tent. You need a heat resistant surface to place the bucket on. Zanexx used the heat mats for curling tongs, i think. I plan to use a chopping board with a frying pan on top, to place the bucket in.

The one thing i don't have is a bbq. The chimney starter instructions advise to only light it on the grill of a bbq, firesafe bricks, patio or a terracotta flower pot saucer. It says to never light it on grass or concrete.
