Last night I put all the pressure I could against my carotid artery to see how painful it would be if I try hanging myself. I did it for a minute and stopped, I didn't pass out and I don't seem to have any burst blood vessels in my face. When I touch where it is it feels bruised though, and there is a bit of pain when I move my jaw. Do you think I've done damage? I don't actually care if I have done because I'll be dead soon anyway but I'd like to go as peacefully as I can. If I can avoid symptoms from this I will until I decide what method

Please let me know to. I think I'm doing it wrong. My face just feels like it's going to combust but I don't pass out. Just hurts and bruising

I think you just bruised your neck a bit, there shouldn't be any permanent damage. It'll probably heal in a few days.
Feeling like your face is about to burst open probably means you got the right place. It carries a majority of the blood there, so it would probably make it hurt a bit.

I don't know if you're going for full or partial suspension, but after my most successful partial hanging attempt, the left side of my neck, where I think the knot ended up being, was really sore. It went away in a few days.

That's because it's probably only on your jugular. If you compress both properly, you won't get that effect, you should start feeling your body go numb and your vision start fading.
