Do you have any books that made your life better? That got you out of a dark, protruding place?

Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl stands out to me.

The fact that man is capable of discovering hope, resilience, and an inner strength so fortifying in the midst of profound torture, reprehensible conditions and unspeakable inhumane treatment in concentration camps me with unbridled admiration. This book also left me an immense gratitude for life and for the lessons and wisdom gained from survivors such as Frankl, as well as from those who did not survive the camps.

Yes. 'It was on fire when I laid down on it' by Robert Fulgam. Oh, and of course, 'The Catcher in the Rye'.

Astrid Lindgren - The brothers lionheart
Astrid Lindgren - Mio, my son
Astrid Lindgren - Ronja, the robber's daughter
They just... kind of remeberd me not to loose tye ability to dream and... they say a lot about courage and braveness, about to do what has to be done, even if they are children's books. They are my favourite books. Astrid Lingren knows the dark side of life, and she can give me sone hope that there will be a good ending to everything - even if this ending is death.

I turn to well-written fiction mostly when I want to feel better. My favourite novel of all time is Stephen Fry's 'The Liar'.

I think I was fifteen when I first read this, it's a great story of survival and determination. He never gave up no matter what, I used to think about it during tough times and drew strength from it.

Hi Marc!
I've watched a few vids of Eckhart Tolle
https://www.youtube.com/user/EckhartTeachings/videos
I downloaded his books too but haven't read them yet.I find it much easier to watch his videos.
Is The Power Of Now worth reading? Did you find it anyway helpful?
Thanks!

Quite a few Kurt Vonnegut books, His Dark Materials trilogy by Phillip Pullman... I remember finding Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy very funny. Probably some others.
