I'm ready. I'm MORE than ready to try to ctb again. I've dabbled with the idea of suspension or partial suspension but I really want to slit my wrists. Is it hard to bleed out? What complications could I run into? I know the "best way" is the ol' down the river and not across the street but does it actually work?

I have experience with self harm and feel the call of a blade often so I know pain and such wont be an issue for me.

You have to get over SI but it's possible. Gory but viable if you have the time. And means to get rid of the blood. We have coagulants which means bathtub is seriously a no go... unless you don't care about the after effects and who will find you. Or clean up. In which case, go for it.

Blood spurting is pretty immediate, even if you don't get the main artery, and you're awake for a good time.

I've tried the same but I couldn't get to the main artery. Have a tattoo covering it to mask that failure.

Good luck my friend...hugs

My ideal setting would be out in the woods so after effects arent a huge worry for me.

Slitting your wrists has got to be one of the lowest success rates for suicide attempts. If I had to guess, it has an even lower success rate than pills.

That's a lot of what I've seen too. I've been thinking about probably getting drunk and high before anything so the alcohol can help thin my blood.

Or even combining that with another method? I just know I need to see me bleed.

Well, in fact, it is problematic to cut the veins. and know if you are not stubborn or faithful, you will damage the tendons and be disabled (or very limited to use the hand you have chosen)

Well, really - this method is quite popular, but with a small chance of success. and yes, a person can lose more than 3 liters of blood and calmly survive. it is sad(

I really appreciate that forum link! So the wrists might not be the sweet spot to get the job done. But the femoral artery seems like it could do the trick?

It takes a fair amount of time to bleed out via the wrists and success is not assured. The carotid and femoral arteries are much faster and surer. I don't have the stomach for it myself, but if that's how you decide to go, godspeed.

if we cannot find a normal carotid artery for compression, what are the chances for its cutting?
or am I mistaken and can 100% just draw a line horizontally and touch it?
(anyway i chose sn method, hate fails with hanging\drowning)

The only problem is this method is completely random and has the lowest success rate possible. It is possible to die from bleeding, but I recommend you to forget about cutting wrists. Cut femoral artery instead, it's pretty hard to spot it (I tried that by myself), I know for sure : once you damage it, there is no way back. You will pass away for 100%. The closest spot of this artery to skin surface is in groan area, I don't know how to say that precisely, but look for the spots where your right leg connects to your body. Sorry for silly explanation, you can just google it and find the instructions how to spot the pulsation of it. As well as the cases people died in minutes or seconds once their femoral got cut. Make sure nobody sees you and no one will notice your blood. If you somehow manage to overwhelm the pain while cutting through your leg muscles and finally damage this artery, you're fine. Once the femoral is damaged, you will start bleeding. Just do nothing and wait for a while. It takes up to 1-2 minutes if nobody helps you to prevent bleeding. Hope my small instructions helped you a bit and you learned something new.

I've been thinking of doing this. You would probably have to cut pretty deep. Wouldn't you need more of a stab wound in that area than just a cut?

Also link for OP for finding the femoral artery pulse (warning: half naked older fella):

One more vote for femoral artery. One guy got killed in a fight recently over here. The killer stabbed his leg and hit the artery. It took 15 minutes for the poor fellow to bleed to death, he was already gone when the ambulance came. But do keep in mind this is NOT a pleasant way to go.

Is it not pleasant because of the initial stab wound? Or is their some sort of trauma afterwards? Sorry if this is a stupid question, haven't been around stab victims alot lol

Well, to put it mildly it hurts a lot. the instincts will still interfere, yet they will cut themselves without good reason - they do not give the same.
