Does anyone else feel like they could be one of the psychopaths in birdbox? At the beginning of the movie when they said the creatures make them feel completely hopeless from seeing their worst nightmares/greatest loss i thought 'why am i still here?' I continue to see my worst nightmares unfold and at some points ive found slight amusement at just how bad things could get even though my soul is screaming for release from this body. Ive far surpassed the point of amusement, yet........... :I
I was also alittle irritated that the movie seems like another way to demonize mentally ill people. What'd you think, if you watched it?

I haven't seen it, but I've watched the trailer and read reviews. Why do you think they're mentally ill? Because of what their greatest fears manifest as?

In the movie, only psychotic people can survive interacting with the monsters because something in their brain overrides the despair it seems. Maybe i shouldve added spoiler alerts :/

Oh! No, don't be silly. That's an interesting take on psychosis. I will watch it and see.

Watched it. I could relate to both those who were from the mental institutions, as well as those the patients preyed upon. I don't like knowing that about myself, but I have come to accept it. I even indulge evil at times. I don't know if it's mental illness, ptsd, drugs--legal and illegal, etc. I know evil that I saw in others, now dwells within me too. Perhaps, it always has, and it just took a combination of factors for me to realize this dark part of my potential. I know it has allowed me to survive this far, but at a great cost to myself and many people I've come across.

I haven't watched yet, but as you tell the history, it seems a lot like Silent Hill franchise of games, they are great, and every character in the game view the town and the "monsters" depending in their own past traumas and inner demons
