So, I think I have decided on hanging as my method of choice. All I have in a suitable amount is about 60 feet of ethernet cable. What will be the best way to go about this and what type of knot should I use? I'm going to be around off and on today as I experiment with different setups.

What made you decide on ethernet cable in particular?

I doubt anyone here can answer this since they're always posting "ctb via hanging today, tomorrow, now etc" and return countless times saying "was unsuccessful" LOL

Answer number one would be anything not using ethernet cable.
That not being an option, any slip knot you can devise. With 60 feet available, best to double it up to get increased strength and better chances of "success".

Why not first get a proper rope? It can't be too hard to procure I guess.
