I have been on benzos long term, I recently did some searching and came across this thread.

https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/alternatives-to-meto.13657/

If you are a long term benzo user at a pretty high dose, is it not safe to take meto as an antiemetic? Thanks for any clarification, just a bit confused about this.

Go to resource page and click on it , look for Stan's guide to SN . You will find your answer there .

I have read through this guide, and don't see anything about whether being a long term benzo user affects meto. Maybe I am just missing it? The thread I posted seems to say it can make side effects worse, but that person had come off benzos. I am wanting to get off benzos as well and want to make sure meto is okay to use.

That user is the only one I ever saw make that claim. they were very vocal about it, though, and I think it caused some confusion.

Benzos are often added to the SN plan. There is a drug interaction between benzos and Meto, but it's that it makes the benzos stronger. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing in this case.

low dose benzo works ok with meto , members here usually take half a tablet of 10mg meto to see how it interacts , if no side effects they take 1 whole tablet and again see if any side effects . If all is well then on the day they start their regime of SN they have confidence that the meto will do its job .

Thank you, after that post I saw a few others say they couldn't take meto due to past benzo use so I just wanted to make sure.

Edit: for those wondering this is the post about it

"Yes. Take Domperidone instead. It doesn't cross blood brain barrier.

EPS symptoms are caused by excess blocking of dopamine receptors. Gaba opposes dopamine at most of the time, as it's an inhibitory neurotransmitter afaik. You maybe disturbed your excitatory signal-inhibitory signal balance by long term benzo usage."

Usually people make that swap based on antipsychotic use rather than benzos. If you're truly worried, you can wean yourself off the drugs several weeks ahead of time. I forget the recommended time frame, but it should come up in a search.

True but this certainly wouldn't make your last weeks anymore pleasant. I would look for suitable alternatives including a nice indica strain of cannibus.

That is interesting about inhibitory/excitatory neurotransmitter imbalances. I have taken a lot of benzos over time and when I use my brain excessively can physically feel specific areas of discomfort or short circuiting. I have been on the fence lately about abandoning longstanding plans because of the amount of mental stimulation it requires. Is there any recovering from this or a lack of data/research on the subject?

I am a long term benzo user and currently attempting to taper. I recently had a dose of reglan in the er. It induced akathisia within minutes. For this reason I wouldn't be able to tolerate a regimen over 48hrs. If you did react badly it would make you want to go through with it more but will not bring any peace to final days.

I am worried about meto & benzos too. In my case (methode) I guess Domperidone wouldn't do the job. My doctor is aware of my addiction to benzos, he prescribded my paspertin (meto) for another reason. Then I think i will be ok. I tried to wean the drugs but I couldn't handle the symptoms. I just let it all like it is and pray that I will be fine and won't wake up

So you will try with meto? Why would Domperidone not work?

dom. Doesn't act like meto in the brain (sorry for my bad english). My method is N and I want to go with Meto.

yes I tried it. Before taking benzos I had zero side effects. But when I tried it a couple weeks ago I had some side effect. Thats why I only do state dose.

if you go with dom. if its ok for your methode i would chose it. I often use this med and I always felt comftable with it
