Plus losing all my resources to cope while in them made it harder and a game of say what the doctors want to hear.
It is difficult, but if I had access to my phone while I was there, I think I would have just spent the whole time browsing SS and avoiding everyone like I usually do.
@dustbiter for what it's worth, my experience there wasn't completely horrible, and I felt better for a brief period of time after I was released. That certainly won't be the case for everyone, but I felt "re-centered" at least for a little bit after I left.
And Sanguine is right, if you want to get out sooner, play nice with the doctors and therapists. I got out in 5 days, while others had to stay a week or two if they were exhibiting violent behaviors or showing a lot of resistance. Just fall in line, do as you're told, and you'll be ok.
You get bonus points for socializing too, so have friendly conversations with other inmates for a speedy release.
